Still waiting on FloArena entries for Navy and Shorty Hitchcock(Millersville PA) entries. I know we are sending wrestlers to both. In the past we have sent some starters to Navy. Thinking Shawver, Alvarez, VanBrill, Kannaird, and Boooooooonnnneeee to Navy. Just my guess(I forget how many attached you can send so it does not count as a NCAA date....think it is 5). Send the redshirt brigade and Clark and O'Neill to Millersville.

Interested to see how Cetta does. He has looked great thus far, although it's been against lesser competition. He'll have the opportunity to face some quality opponents this weekend in Gabe Willochell (Edinboro), Darren Miller (Bucknell - NQ & former PA state champ), Matt Santos (MSU current starter), etc.

Angelo wresled off at 149 lost to White & MVB
I get that he needs work and isn't the ideal choice, but Clark isn't the answer given what we have seen thus far so hopefully Angelo or Benner gets a chance. At least Angelo can be dangerous, Clark has 0 offensive ability at this level\weight currently. We need to go in another direction for the time being.

That name you don’t want to ask about just started back wrestling this Monday so he is not ready yet. Answers your question?
Any news on Peterson or Raimo? Would love to see them in some of the open tournaments soon.

Clark beat Benner in wrestle-off. Angelo lost to two guys at 149. I think the only competitive solution is O'Neill but it has been reported several times that he can't make the weight. And the way Turley is looking, O'Neil is needed at 174.

He also wrestled a match at 165 in the opening quad if I remember correctly. He’s probably weaker up that high but he’s built like a truck and could probably at least toss somebody and steal a match. If Clark isn’t winning these warm up matches he’s not going to win any this year.

Angelo is a 500 wrestler at 149 and Benner is under 500 at 149.....neither is the answer at 165.

…and Clark is 1-5 against far worse competition. Not sure where that leaves us.

There really is no good answer at 165 which is a huge problem, but we can’t keep sending someone who is averaging 2 points per match out there. Something needs to change.

Hey I agree.....there really is not a good answer at 165, but Clark is the best answer. The coaches are sending who they think is the best for the weight. Angelo and Benner would have the same or worse results than Clark at 165.

Can you honestly say you expect more wins out of Clark than Angelo? Angelo has home run potential and while he’ll lose most matches up 2 weights, he at least has a chance. Clark is just accepting a loss.

Honestly I have no idea. I do know that Angelo's home run potential at 165 will be a hell of alot less than at 149. My thoughts are this....wrestlers want to start....if Angelo thought his best chance to start would have been at 165, he would have been there to start. I also know that the coaches want the best lineup on the mat, if they thought Angelo at 165 would have been the best, they would have had him there.

People need to accept that we're weak at 165 and move on. Constantly questioning the coaches and asking for another subpar option isn't the answer. It sucks but it is what it is.

I think we can all agree that regardless of who is getting trotted out there it’s going to be a complete sh*tshow. Unfortunately unless we basically sell our soul in the portal in the off-season we don’t have anyone in the pipeline unless Kanniard eventually bumps up but then 157 is just as much of a problem.

Angelo also has a tendency to get stuck. That will be exacerbated at 165.

I’m not one to question the coaches. I’m fully confident in all of them. I’m also not particularly big on throwing the same guy out there to repeatedly lose. After a while you have to try something different whether you think the original move is the right one or not.

I hear ya but trying another body just for the sake of trying isn't a realistic solution. It sucks and hard to come to terms but we don't have anything there. 🤷🏻‍♂️

What’s the harm in trying something different?

Well, hopefully with a month and half and a strict weight training program Angelo can add weight. He can be an exciting wrestler once he gets going.
Clark is wrestling his true first year. He supposedly works very hard and has great partners. He's going to get better, but does have a big undertaking in the B1G. We knew this since last season so it shouldn't really be a shocker.

I plan on longer bathroom and concession breaks during the home slate. Will save me a lot of aggravation directed at the coaching staff.
