Yes. And if he doesnt, you simplify the playbook for him cause obviously this playbook ain’t working.

Football isn’t rocket science, guys
yes I agree. It starts up front.

If your line can't block long enough for receivers to get separation or for the RB to get to the second level then it doesn't really matter who the QB is.

On defense if the opposing RB consistently gets to the second level, it doesn't matter who the QB is (unless your QB, OL and receiver core are of the caliber where you have a quick strike ability where you can win in a B12 style shootout).

Our best receiver is Bo Melton and he's nowhere near consistent enough. Just compare our receivers to what we had before with Coleman, Harrison, Carroo, Wright, Sanu, Underwood, Britt etc.

We don't really have the QB, receiving core or OL to do well in the big ten. But out of all those, the most important is OL. Teams like Wisconsin are a perfect example of that.

We beat ,Cuse, who went head to head with Clemson.

Added my two cents above.

Guys, it’s not like we went into this game 0-8. We have 4 wins. We have the talent

so you think we have more talent than Syracuse?
no I don't.

We won @syracuse due to superior coaching on our side.

Syracuse has since gotten their head out of their *** and are now a much better team for it.

Teams don't stay stagnant over a season. Some get better, some get worse and some do both.

defiantly not jesting. Kid is a 5-star. Has to be better than this eye sore we’ve been watching the last 8 weeks.

Rant on. I'm not sure if you're trolling or over reacting to a bad loss. Hopefully a good night's sleep will leave you with a better perspective.

On every level Zap. Everything from the equipment guys on up.

I was told from someone who would know that we had no idea what we were in for in this league.

You can’t really point to one area and say we are close to our now peers.
I had a similar conversation in 2012-13 with someone way up there at RU after a meeting with B1G folks.

So it is good to see all the progress overall in Athletics.

Hopefully Football figures it too someday.

Do you know what else is silly?

The transitive property in college football.
I totally agree with you that you cannot use the transitive property in college football. However, teams like Nebrasksa can give Ohio State a game, Purdue can beat Michigan State, etc. Yet we have games against Ohio State, Michigan State, and Wisconsin where we get absolutely obliterated…not an ounce of competitiveness. Yes, we played Michigan tough, but too often it looks like Varsity vs. JV. That can’t happen. Wisconsin should not be 50 points better than us on our home field. Aside from the Illinois game, we have looked incredibly unprepared most of the season.

disagree. Certainly harder but good coaches/QBs find a way
Maybe confused with another poster, but didn't you say above Wisconsin is a middle of the pack B1G West team? Did you notice they are ranked #21, and will now likely win the B1G West. Wisconsin, Iowa and Minnesota were ranked 20, 21 and 22. That is TOP of the B1G West.

Second, there were at least 3 catchable passes thrown to Melton that were not caught. They were all deep passes. He catches one or two of those, and it is not such a blowout. Melton is a senior and our best WR. Our other two best WRs this season, Sanders and Cruickshank did not play. How do you put that on our QB or our coach? Seems to me that you and a few others have some sort of anti-Greg narrative you are trying to spin.

Look at the O line recruits for 2022. That’s a core group that can make a difference starting in their sophomore year which is Schiano year 4.

Very anti Greg. Agree. Hated the hire. Still do. Wanted a young offensive mind.

You and me both. Terrible hire at that cost and contract length. Remind me again, what other program did we risk losing him to ?

Fair enough, and I respect reasoned debate and disagreement. Who were your #1, #2 choices?

As to today, do you see my point with the dropped passes? At least one, probably two of those passes to Melton should have been caught. Well designed plays, catchable balls. But he caught none. It was just a **** day all around today. Started with Vedral's first pick, which was also inexcusable. Those plays, along with others today, are on the players, not on the coaches. It's either/both a talent or execution issue. For Melton, he had a bad day, and he is usually reliable.

Can I ask how that’s a dumb philosophy?

good QBs and coaches can be successful with bad linemen. How is this stupid?
OK. Let's assume the coach (Sean Gleeson/Greg) is/are OK. We all know Vedral is not what would be called a "good" QB. He is a game manager. You still put the loss today on Greg/Sean?

Knight…All of Vedral’s downfield passes are just thrown up for grabs. He doesn’t have the arm strength to reach receivers before the coverage gets there.

Also, virtually anyone else with a clue about modern offense would have been a better hire, and at a fraction of the price. How about Gleeson ? Would we be any worse ? This long contract will set the program back more than Ash did.

Yes. Greg is our head coach. Every loss is on him. Just as i credit him for every win.

the 3 points is certainly on Sean as our OC.
