yes and put him in a position to lose and develop bad habits because of the poor OL RU has right now.
Putting him in now won't help RU win, but will help make him lose a little confidence in himself because of not being to play his best because of the OL's inability to protect him.
Then he’s not the answer.
A 5-star (if that’s truly what he is) plays good regardless of the o-line.

Just the truth

I imagine GS and Gleeson but heads philosophically. Gleeson is a high tempo risk taking OC. GS is a ball is the program guy.

Schiano 10000% runs the philosophy..

why Gleeson was the go to OC three years ago and sucks this year

totally disagree here.
Agree Mike
We are lacking top flight guys in a few key spots that make us look worse than we are.
Zero pressure and inability to cover medium pass routes is killing us. Have to rush one more(and get to QB) or one less (add a DB). We don't have the horses to do both. I personally would beef up the rush and take my chances.
I have no intimate personnel knowledge so could be wrong. I do know that what we are doing is not working against any QB with a pulse.

a good coach doesn’t let their team 4 and 4 team lose 52-3 against a middle of the road team.

they just don’t.

Brohm runs laps around Greg…

funny when Brohm loses..he’s a bad coach.but when Greg loses..he has no talent. Sigh…
could be Brohm is starting to see the talent he brought in help win games and his coaching looks like it's improving from the less talented roster days.
Greg looks like a bad coach to some because his players are not the type that will make RutgersAl
upset alerts come true , or even close to it happening, so Schiano is called a bad coach.

Today Brohm deserves credit for his team beating the Spartans, but remember this is his 5th season and he was building this program since 2017 having one winning season in the 4 prior years while the recruits he recruite for the [program devoloped the type of talent to win in the B1G West and be able to play like they played today in the upset many didn't think would happen

Who thought we’d lose 52-3 today?

I don’t think anyone was thinking all week we had no shot..and we got our asses kicked. That’s COACHING!

Look we were in my opinion a 4-5 win team this season. I said this before the season began. 5 wins would still be showing improvement and he has this team in a position to win 6, exceeding expectations. The only loss this year that was a bad loss was NW. If we had played them before we played the 3 top 10 teams in a row the outcome may have been different.

By almost any standard, the program is vastly improved over the Ash years. We are recruiting better, and with the portal increasing the talent level. We are still sub par in the trenches and lack the depth on the lines to play really physically each week. We can give max effort for a game and then seem to wear down again.

We knew what we were getting in Greg 2.0. A program builder, a recruiter and a smart defensive mind. He still is too conservative on offense and is not the best in game manager but he is far better than what we have had previously in the B1G.

The real test comes next year to see if he is willing to turn the offense over to Gleeson and let Wimsatt be the dynamic player we all hope he will become. In the interim, we at least know we can compete with about 1/2 of the league for now. Keep the course, keep adding talent in the trenches and we can be a team that averages 8 wins a year by year 5 of the rebuild.

there’s a difference between being a 5 win team and being competitive in your losses..

and being a 5 win team and getting demolished into your losses

I would just like one season of the latter .

Wisconsin is not a middle of the road big ten west team. They might even win the west division when all is said and done. They are getting stronger as the season progresses.
So you’re saying you came into this week expecting a blowout? Be honest.

Wisconsin isn't a middle of road team, despite their 7-3 record and is still considered a top B1G program .
Say you feel Greg isn't a good HC because of losing like RU did today , but don't make like the Badgers aren't one of the better B1G programs.
Of course it's hard to feel RU is so bad that today's score is something to be expected, it's not.
But losing was expected because of the talent difference and time will tell if coaching is bad as well.
But that's after the Schiano recruits have time to develop and upgrade the talent base on roster from what he inherited

believe me..I don’t think greg is a good coach not because of today. Couldn’t win the big game In the big East with 20 NFL players ..no confidence he can win in the big ten.

Was losing expected 52-3 man??!??? C’mon

If I recall correctly we were competitive in losses to UM and NW. We were fairly competitive with Mich St. There were only two blowouts. Under Ash we are probably a one win team at this point in the season. If he pulls off two more wins we are going to a bowl. That would be remarkable considering where we started after Ash.

I expected us to lose something like 35-10. Less of a blowout than what we had but a blowout none the less.

Throwing 3 Ints and fumbling adds up to the difference.

The games are won and lost in the trenches in the big ten. Wisconsin showed that.

We'll only start winning these types of games once the line talent and depth are upgraded to big ten quality. It takes time with multiple recruiting classes.

And before you say "transfer portal", understand that the top transfer portal talent goes to the best teams that are slated to win (Or teams that can offer them the most money). They want to win right a way not be part of a slow rebuild.

And some of our "fans" want everything done yesterday. This is not the team to follow if you want that.

not comparing ash to greg. Greg also runs laps around ash.

competive against northwestern?!?! Wow, that’s a win,

agree greg is a better coach than Harbaugh which is why we were competive. Harbaugh is probably the only worst coach in the bud ten, imo

Gonna have to disagree with that one. Stars fall off while you run for your life or look for your helmet that just got knocked off.
Let Gavin grow a little. He will be great. No need to get him banged up. Risk isn't worth the reward right now.
He just turned 18 a couple weeks ago.

So Purdue’s trenches are better than Michigan St.’s? I’d totally disagree there.

Best way to let him grow Gavin grow is against big ten competition.

If a coach is worried his QB is gonna get injured..then yikes!! Lol

you do realize that the coaching staff isn't gonna want to burn his redshirt right?

he'll likely play in the other 3 games we play this season. 2 of which we have a shot of winning (Maryland, Indiana but not a sure thing). The redshirt won't get burned if he only plays in 4 games this year.

He probably also doesn't know the play book well enough to run the offense yet so will probably only be brought in on situational plays (ie. 4th and short, on the oppositions side of the field).

Totally doubt he’d be on the traveling away squad if he wasn’t 100% familiar with the playbook

You seem to forget that NW was in the B1G championship game last year and may have the best coach n the league.

you really think that an 18yr old true freshmen QB (the most complicated position on the field) whose only had 60 days (Or so) in the program (and much less than that in practice and reps) is familiar with our full offensive playbook? Something that usually takes veteran QBs multiple seasons to learn and execute well?

nvm you are forgetting the strength and conditioning aspect of it as well.

Yes. And if he doesnt, you simplify the playbook for him cause obviously this playbook ain’t working.

Football isn’t rocket science, guys
