Until Clifford went out last week this might have happened against PSU too. Iowa relies a lot on their defense and TOs. I think they're +15 this year in TOs and first in the country. If the D or STs aren't setting up the offense with good field position it's harder for them to match up consistently.Iowa looks terrible. Vastly overrated.
Agree. They also can surprise if/when they are an underdog. OSU and Penn State (with Clifford) are clearly the best in the B1G. Iowa, Michigan, and Michigan State are all overrated. None of them are Top 10 teams.Until Clifford went out last week this might have happened against PSU too. Iowa relies a lot on their defense and TOs. They're a good team but the games have to playout a certain way for them.
Well they're good teams but have some issues here and there. I always say this...when you say they're over ranked and over rated then you have to so okay who behind them is worthy of passing them and a lot of time those teams also have flaws. UF lost to LSU today, Ark has lost its third in a row. UK, Ole Miss, ND, Ok State, WF? Those are the teams directly behind are the all worthy of pushing in front, maybe a couple are? #9 Oregon struggled yesterday with Cal. Point being it's all relative.Agree. True but I would expect Fla, Ark, ND, Okla State, Oregon to all beat Iowa, Mich., MSU. I think Auburn would to - they almost won at Penn State. LSU, maybe, Wake Forest maybe not. Can they beat any of them? sure, but I don’t think they would. To me, Mich., MSU, Iowa, are all in the 2nd 10.Well they're good teams but have some issues here and there. Easy win over UCF and Iowa struggling against Purdue.
Shocking that Cincinnati can field a top 5 team but RU can sniff the top 50. Then you have Purdue execute perfection against undefeated Iowa yet RU can’t even beat Northwestern. I need my head examined to spend $2K+ year after year on season tickets to watch the SOS in an empty stadium.
That might be true but they’d beat the sh*t out of us, sos or not. That juggernaut of a schedule cincy has faced…if they make it to the playoff (doubt it) they will play the role OU usually likes for itself (punching bag)
It's a thin line with Iowa. The way they play, they're capable of losing to anybody. They're also capable of playing just well enough to beat anybody.Iowa looks terrible. Very overrated.
And it will still show they did not belong. These teams usually have to hope they team they play (in a non playoff NY6 bowl) does not give aThat might be true but they’d beat the sh*t out of us, sos or not.
Is that why Rutgers will die with Vedral behind the wheel instead seeing what the backups can do? To not create a QB controversy if the young backups actually do well as the starter?Wimsatt knows he's starting next year, game 1, first snap.
That’s not the problem, what I’m worrying about is he patient enough to wait a year or two for the offensive line to come together and will he be happy with his stable of receivers., including our non existent TE’s that should be very involved in this offense.Wimsatt knows he's starting next year, game 1, first snap.
They served their purpose.....beat PSU.Iowa looks terrible. Very overrated.
There's always the portal if he changes his mindWith the seasons Cincinnati and Kentucky are having, it's a miracle Wimsatt chose Rutgers over those two.
They aren't passing Cincinnati this week. They are #5. Playing a poor Mississippi State. In weeks to come they will. Not if Alabama wins big.

Agree. I think the B1G champ comes out of that game. The winner will steamroll the West champ in the B1G championship game. The problem for the rest of the B1g is that the OSU defense is starting to get better and better. Was reading that 14 true or RS freshman - from their monster 2020 and 2021 classes - either start or play major roles in their defensive 2-deep. The OSU offense is - plain and simple - unstoppable. But, with that said, I really believe PSU is the one team that has the talent to possibly give them a game or even - with a few breaks - take them down......like you said with CliffordAgree. They also can surprise if/when they are an underdog. OSU and Penn State (with Clifford) are clearly the best in the B1G. Iowa, Michigan, and Michigan State are all overrated. I think more contending teams need to have 2 losses to assure they get in. If it's them against a 1 loss teams depending on the profile of that team it could go either way. Undefeated Cincy against a 2 loss team then Cincy gets in front. It will be fascinating to see what knots the committee and TV football pundits ties themselves into to avoid including an undefeated Cincinnati in the playoff. I'm rooting for them to run the table just for the entertainment value.
If they were in the Big Ten they would have two losses at least.
Its a long season but Cincy looks legit
I think Cincy could take a Michigan and Michigan St without losing stride.
However I've seen Ohio St coming on late (as they have a habit of doing) and they could take Cincy down. Be a good game though
Years ago it was UCF that seemed to get screwed after running the table in the AACIt will be fascinating to see what knots the committee and TV football pundits ties themselves into to avoid including an undefeated Cincinnati in the playoff. The catch all excuse every time an SEC team loses in a bowl game is that they weren't inspired or focused. It's never because the other team was better that day.And it will still show they did not belong. These teams usually have to hope they team they play (in a non playoff NY6 bowl) does not give a
two years ago UGA was pissed they did not get in at 4…so they had to settle for a Sugar Bowl against a decidedly inferior nutless steer texas team. They were vastly better and slept-walked to an uninspired 28-21 loss. The game meant everything to tejas and nothing to UGA who felt slighted (this was poor coaching prep)
I think an undefeated Cincy would be left out in that scenario.Question for everyone on this thread. Let's just say that Alabama, OSU, and Oklahoma all win out. That is possible - especially with OSU and Alabama. Or even Oklahoma drops one and wins the Big 12. That would leave a one-loss Alabama, Georgia, OSU and Oklahoma with one loss or less. Alabama, OSU and Oklahoma are conference champions. Cincinnati finishes undefeated (likely). Who are your playoff teams ?
Would love to be Maryland, Purdue, Minnesota at 4-2, 5-2 right about now.If they were in the Big Ten they would have two losses at least.
Ask yourself though, would they be undefeated if they had to play in a P5 conference, especially the SEC or B1G East ?Don’t worry, an undefeated Cincinnati team will somehow still get screwed out of the playoffs.
