Season tickets still available for $300. Ten game plans are $150 and Four game plans are $75.

Just a thought. You don’t think you could have 1 thread on this and just update the subject and then do a new reply within that says you updated the title as there are now X number of tickets remaining?
It would actually be cool to see the numbers drop in 1 thread and it would de-clutter the board a little.

Send me a picture of a packed 300 section and I’ll believe it. RU is playing games here. Just like they announced the Temple football game is sold out. We all know (even if game was on original date) that there would thousands of empty seats.
This is a big marketing push, which is great. Do what you need to do to drum up interest.

Temple game for football = no question I agree with you. As soon as they announced sell out I knew it was bogus. Not close. Anyway….
This very different. In the RAC basically all 100 and 200 level are covered with season tickets and students. This leaves the 2300 seats in the 300 level. Some season tickets from this section, especially after last year. My best guess is around 300-500 season tickets here.
In summary we’re talking about at most 2k tickets available for single and flex plans per game. This team is a high profile sport that just had its best 2 years in 30 years (!), back to back!! You don’t think people going to want to see them in person? Imagine if football had 2 back to back seasons close to 2006. Same thing here and with much less seats to fill.
Every game is going to be a sell out this year. Most before our first game. If the team is close to as good as last 2 years then there will be 7200+ for all of the crappy games.

Exactly- how can people not see through this marketing ploy. Just look at the Temple football game. Sold out? Not even close. Fraud at it’s best.

Why is our fanbase so miserable? Is it that hard to believe that after 9 consecutive sellouts, a year without fans, and our first NCAA appearance in 31 years, that we sold out 2 of 18 home games in an arena that’s 15% the size of the football stadium?

Just enjoy it.

If you hype up a sellout and there are 1,000 empty seats in an 8,000 seat arena then you just look silly.

And when there’s about 300 because it’s midweek against an inferior opponent, will you admit you were wrong? Doubtful. Regardless, you can keep your head buried in sand.

They sold the tickets. They have no control over Jimmy having to work late that night to Jane needing a ride home from soccer practice. And regardless, none of the conference sellouts I’ve been to for basketball have had anywhere close to 1,000 empty seats.

It is not just the Big Ten games selling out that is amazing. What is as well is that there are only 290 Tickets Left For MERRIMACK !!! Cmon, without looking it up, do you even know what Conference they are in? Or what state the school is in?

Why would anyone think that a huge state university in a state with nine million people likely headed to the NCAAs for the third year in a row not fill an Indiana high school-sized building on a frequent basis ?

People bitching about attendance are really clueless. I go to the first home game every year as it always falls around my birthday, so it's become a family tradition. Usually if there are 4K in house for a cupcake it's a lot. Even if this years' games aren't truly sold out, at most the school has held back maybe 500-750 tickets for flex plans and late season-ticket buyers in the 300s. Those tickets will either be sold on StubHub or given to local schools/clubs. There is just no way that the RAC won't be much, much more packed for the OOC games. You're looking at 7k per game, a huge improvement.

December 2019 against Wisconsin - 6,300; and half that much about 10 minutes before tip-off. But it was fun to see a packed building for the rest of the games. 4K is the amount of the true fan base. So it really is funny to see sell outs for these OOC games. But what will happen is jacked up prices on StubHub.

Don’t understand your point? Were you there 3 days later vs Seton Hall? I walked in 25 minutes before tip and the entire student section was already filled as was most of the 100s and 200s. The place was intense and it was packed from before the beginning.
Dec 2019 just happens to be the start of the best 2 year stretch for this program in the past 30 years. I can’t pretend to know what % the fan base increased but season tickets I believe has doubled since that time.

Ticket sales and attendance are very different things. I have four tickets, but only used one for the Temple game. A friend has four tickets and hasn't used one of them for a single game this year. Neither of us have sold our extras.

My row in 229 is sold out, but there are never any people in those seats except for opposing fans in big games. Pretty sure they were bought strictly for resale, and only get sold when demand is high.

Plenty of season ticket holders are not using all of their tickets this year.

I have no point - usual don't; yes I was at SH game - and recall even during FH Jr days - when that game would draw a good crowd; look I am very happy with this - but will be interested to see what ends up on StubHub - like $100 to sit up in the 300's - like what happened for the Maryland game. But I agree with a post that said he has seen this before in '76 (assume he meant the Barn) & 06'; when their were plenty of seats for the ILL & Ohio games - and then by the time you got to the L'ville & Cuse games everybody was a football fan. The fan base is what it is.

Why don't you donate so people can have an opportunity to attend if you do not go or want to sell.

Rutgers used to lightly publicize a program we had where people could donate tickets and they were given to groups like PALs etc. Haven’t heard anything about it in at least 10 years.

We have a ticket exchange on TKR. I have sent tickets and received tickets for free.

Another possibility is that the Visiting teams get a certain amount. If they don’t sell them by a certain date, they return them. It does seem early, but basketball is different than football.

I mentioned this in another thread. If you check what’s available in a 300 level section and all you see available is a full row available that is NOT the top row. Especially if it’s like 3-5 rows down from the top, what’s happening is they aren’t showing the top few rows as available.
As an example right now, you can check Clemson in 305 or Purdue in 306, 311, 312. This is what happened with the psu game. Only thing left for psu game is unsold inventory for season tickets or flex plans but that won’t happen until at least closer to first game.
Don’t worry, number of tickets left still extraordinarily low for this time of year and each game will sell out before game time, and anything in December or later will be gone by end of November.

I doubt we have started the Christmas gift time yet either. Lots of people give tickets to a ballgame for Christmas. And of course, we are still 23 days from the opener. Down to 204 for Nebraska and Maryland.
