@gmay8 -
Comcast is awful. One of the top 3 reasons we were happy to leave the peninsula. Always liked your town better than the R town to the East of you. Hope things are going well for you there.

Sorry to @Local Shill if you got tagged in this or it shows up as a reply to you. Hit the wrong button.

Things are going great in town. It’s been 5+ years and we’re loving it. Thanks for asking!!

Does ACCN have overflow channels like BTN? May need that to get the start of the game.

I am already hoping the Illinois-Virginia game features zero penalties, injury timeouts and dropped passes. Please get that game ended ASAP. The ACC network is so dumb, they start games at 11 AM EDT, so they can squeeze in four games on the day.
For those that might be worried that the game before ours might over run and eat into the start of our game there might be a workaround similar what some did this past week with the Fox Sports app. Just like this past game was available in the Fox Sports app if you had trouble locating it from your streaming service or cable provider I think the ESPN app might be the way to access the game if the previous game over runs.

I see a bunch of ESPN3 channels and ACCXN channels there and I'd guess one of those avenues would be showing the RU/Syracuse game if the previous game runs long. I tested out the ESPN3 channels showing US Open stuff now and the ACCXN channels (overflow for ACCN I guess) showing Women's soccer games now and I was able to access them with my YouTube TV credentials. So I think the ESPN app could be a work around if the main ACC Network doesn't get to our game on time, just like the Fox Sports app was for the RU/Temple game. I mean I don't know for sure but it seems like a reasonable assumption that our game could pop up on those places if the main ACC Network channel doesn't start it on time.

Like one of the subscribers above I made the switch from FIOS a few months ago to YouTube TV and I liked it. I trialed it out for the free period and a month more to see if it met my needs and when I was satisfied it did I switched. It doesn't have YES and MSG for those the must have those.

For those that sign up for the trial for the ACCN, I'd suggest just use it exclusively for that period and not your cable provider. Test out anything you could think of with regards to dvr, functionality, ease of use, streaming quality etc...and see if it meets your needs. Might be able to get rid of those dang monthly fees for the cable boxes and associated fees/taxes if it does. That was the big plus for me.
I know not everyone is a Yankees fan or Knicks or Rangers fan, but if you are fan of those teams like me, how could you possibly switch to a service that doesn't have YES or MSG?

I know streaming saves some money, but the angst about not getting channels you want to watch makes it kind of ridiculous in my opnion.

Best of Luck,
Groz

I’m not a fan of those teams or those sports so doesn’t bother me and there’s no angst about channels as YouTube Tv has all the ones I need. Cable vs streaming didn’t seem much diff yesterday either. The lack of knowledge on overflow was the issue not access to the channels. Same for this week’s Syracuse game, if the previous game runs long.

I’ve said this before every household is different and should do whatever suits its needs. I tested out YouTube tv for 1.5-2 months to see if it did for me and when I saw that it did I switched from FIOS TV and boosted my internet and save about 65-70 bucks a month. I don’t encourage people to switch if it doesn’t meet their needs. I encourage people to look into it to see if it might and save some money in the process too if it does.

I don't know what YouTubeTV has in the NY/NJ area, but in for me in Northern California, I get a pair of NBC Sports Channels - NBC Sports Bay Area and not sure if the other is for Sacramento or an overflow channel. I also get the local ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox, PBS Channels. So you may want to check to see if you get YES and/or MSG.

ACCN does not have an overflow channel like BTN does. Seems to be 2 options for the possible overflow next week.

1. ESPN app (sign in with your internet provider)

2. ESPN News channel.
"Though originating as a station geared towards sports news, events, and conferences, ESPNews now primarily functions as an overflow network for ESPN's programs, eliminating scheduling conflicts for other networks in ESPN's circle."

Well if it’s ESPN news that even better because that’s actually on the guide itself and easy to navigate to when channel flipping.

I know they’ve used ESPN news as overflow for their main channels ESPN, ESPN 2 and ESPN U. I didn’t know if it would be used for ACCN and SECN. Good if that’s the case.

What is ACCXN then? Sounds like an overflow but only available in the app but don’t know for sure and there are a couple of them in the app. Multiple ESPN3 tiles are in the app too. Regardless, you’d think our game has to be in one of these places…..ESPN news, ACCXN or ESPN3 if the prior game runs over.

ACCXN is a streaming subscription program equivalent to BTN+

Apparently the package on Cablevision which includes the BTN also includes the ACC Network. I'll confirm that once I'm back in NJ later today.
I just checked to see if I have the ACCN channel and I do. I have optimum. I am set to watch RU destroy the fruit!

Problem is you have to go Syracuse. Who wants to go there??

Those who want there want to see in person ( for the 1st time) a huge Road victory in the Greg 2.0 era.
No other road games this season are drivable back and forth on the same day. Just seeing Rutgers beat the sad delusional Sara fans is priceless.

Agreed. If we weren't heading to OCNJ for vacation on Saturday, I'd be going up to get some Dino BBQ and watch us pummel Sara senseless...

Preps is good and better than Mack and Manco's (it'll never be Manco and Manco to me - been going to OC regularly since I was about 5 years old, i.e, 54 years ago), but my favorite on the boardwalk is Angelo's II by 14th - great pizza, but I rarely eat it, because they also happen to be one of my 3 or 4 favorite cheesesteak joints on the planet and I like cheesesteaks a little more than pizza, plus I can't regularly get great cheesesteaks this far north. In fact, every year we go to OCNJ, the first thing we do, before anything else is go up on the boardwalk and get cheesesteaks. Kohr Bros rules, too - my wife's favorite, along with monkey bread.

It is a gamble. If Rutgers wins, it will be a hell of a fun trip. If Syracuse wins, it will be a miserable 24 hours.

Place your bets!
Yep, went there for the beatdown win in 2005 and the soul crushing drubbing in 2011 when Savage was sacked about 30 times and I'll definitely take the former, lol.

Also, if you sign up for Disney Plus, you can get the game, but you have to sign up for the right one. They used to offer free trials, but seem to no longer do that. We got Disney Plus for $7.99/month with Apple Music or some other useless crap feature we signed up for but our kids wanted.

EDIT- seems that there is little/no access for on-demand replays with whatever "plan" we got.

Wait, so I'm one of the unlucky Comcast subscribers here in South Jersey. That said, we DO pay for Disney-Plus and cast it onto our TV. So you're saying that because we pay for Disney-Plus, we may actually get the ACCN already? Wow if so. I need to look into that before I do either a Youtube TV or Hulu free trial.

I THINK (and it is confusing) you should be able to watch ACCN games on a computer or an ESPN or Disney+ App on a SmartTV or a Firestick, Roku, etc. I have only watched games on a computer.

Let us know how it works out.

Just checked and I can access ACC Network from my laptop easily (we have it on Optimum), so should have no issue if the rental doesn't carry ACC Network. Also came across this...

Totally free if you have Fire Stick. I was screwing around and found The ACC Network on Stirr TV, part of a group of channels on Fire Stick. https://stirr.com/show/shoutfactorychannel-sfv21147000-the-captains-close-up
I just installed Stirr TV on my Fire Stick and I am pretty certain the ACC channel there is not the live sports one folks would need for the Cuse game. It is labeled as ACCDN (ACC Digital Network) and it is currently showing an old Miami/Georgia Tech game from 2017. The ACCN that I have through my fubo trial is showing USF at NC State from this year right now and its grid is filled only with games from this past week. Stirr's grid later is not showing any of the ACCN's current programming like Packer and Durham at all. I'm pretty sure ACCDN is different than ACCN that will carry our game.

I ran into the same thing on the free channels that come with the Samsung SmartTV free channel App for PAC12 Network. I thought I was actually getting the full network, but it was some watered down version without any live games.

None of these FireStick/HULU/YouTube/Apps/Stirr is going to help us see the start of the game if, I mean when, the first game goes later than 3 hours...........

correct?

That's my concern, too. Lots of great streaming/free trial advice in all of these threads, but if the game is delayed, do any of these offer an ACCN overflow channel? Curious to know for sure. Someone either above or in another thread ( @Terry_2426 I think) said you should be able to watch it on ESPN app if delayed AFTER you do one of these free trial subscriptions.

I am far from an expert, but I would think the App would actually LET you watch it over what is being shown on "broadcast TV" through cable or YouTubeTV.
