While your crew looked like it could kick your ***, I suspect they live in fear of the boss. To this day, I have never have a contractor leave the work area cleaner than when they started. Those guys must have gotten screamed at too many times for leaving work sites a mess.

But if you watch game videos when you would recognize him. He was an older guy. We sat next to his booth at Henry's diner, and I asked him if he was still working for the football team. The guy unloaded on me with a barrage about Ash.

“Dismissive and arrogant” is exactly the description a good friend of mine gave - he met Ash a few times at events he attended where he spoke with ash (basically laughed at Rutgers football past - clearly he thought Rutgers was well beneath him)

amazing how someone could be dismissive and arrogant and yet RIDICULOUSLY INCOMPETENT.

one can forgive incompetence when the person is modest and respectful but he was the total opposite - f&@k that dismissive arrogant incompetent douchebag

Ash is the reason why I don't give Nebraska a hard time about how they have been since joining the Big Ten.

Was a good listen because it was juicy. However part of me felt like it was punching under the belt a little bit.

Ash was a dismal failure who was utterly incompetent in terms of coaching,recruiting, motivating, and people skills. I will not given I’m a pass or buy into the “he tried hard” narrative. I personally have heard multiple first hand stories of what an incompetent *** he was.

No. More lessons learned from the first-person accounts laid out in this thread. Everything in your beloved I-told-you-so thread was speculation at the time. I think that repeatedly resurrecting that thread is strange. There may have been some folks excited about the hire, but many of the people I know were not that jazzed and in wait and see mode.

I love to crap on The Error as much as anyone.. but, I actually thought this might be piling-on....

but, actually it's GREAT stuff -- -and important for (just about) every fan to hear...... how horrible he was...

Totally agree. As I said above - I can excuse incompetence. But combine incompetence with being dismissive and arrogant and… go f’ yourself

I think all the hate on Ash is justified. It is one thing to be totally incompetent. People are willing to forgive and forget incompetence over time. But it is another to be totally incompetent, but somehow also arrogant, while denigrating everything about the place you are in, while also blaming everyone but yourself. That type of behavior is fully deserving of extended scorn. The guy was just a ***.

Ash did a great job as a DC at OSU, results-wise even better than Schiano in the same role. So it’s not surprising they would think highly of him.

Meh. I don’t hate him at all. I just think he tried and failed at the job he was hired to do here. It happens all over the country in sports and in every other facet of life.

I don't disagree with you. But an osu "fan" posts once in their history on rivals and that post - on the Rutgers board no less - is to defend the Ash hire.

A bit odd no? Maybe it was an Ash family member.
