He came into last season very lean and very much in shape and then got injured. Many people lose and gain weight in the summer and winter months respectively but he also had an injury. When you go hard for months your metabolism adjusts to that and you have to eat enough calories to sustain performance. When you have an injury you simply cannot work as hard and your metabolism shuts down. Even if you cut back on calories people who have weight gain tendencies will gain weight in this scenario. You also lose your cardio quickly and until you are fully healthy it is difficult to get that back.

Looking for a big year from one of our best players. He does it all.

Jalen is not as fast as Jacob, but not many are. Jalen is tenacious, plays with a chip on his shoulder, and is a gym rat.

We need to wait and see how he does against B1G competition, but any problem he has won’t be from lack of effort.

Miller is going to be a good to very good B1G player. Was one of the best leaders in the State of Maryland last season. Played against a national schedule. Doesn’t shock me one bit that he wanted RHj there and looked like he belonged. Love it.

People made a quick judgement on Jalen Miller by looking at an offer list...probably did not even watch highlights. During last year he may have been the 2nd PG option. First option Ryan Conway selected Seton Hall over Rutgers.

Rutgers needs speed, lateral quickness and a good on ball defender at guard. Even when Pikiell says he is all of that, detractors still don't believe him. They then say it's just Coach speak.

This clip demonstrates the key hole in Ron’s game, he can’t blow by anyone which is why if he’s not hitting the 3 at a consistent clip he’s pretty inefficient as a scorer when in his natural wing position.

He often gets a first step but just is too slow after that. I don’t doubt Jalen Miller will be a good defender as he matures but that’s not what’s happening in this video imo.

I really like that Pike started to put him in PnR at toward the end of the season to help him get going offensively. Hope to see that next year.
