Did anyone notice Agee’s 46 turnovers in 20 games..with a high of 6. Those are scary numbers for a big man. I’m hopeful Pike is not going to let Agee freewheel like I’ve seen in some of his clips. He hasn’t let a player do that since Freeman.

Agee isn’t Timme or Garza but San Jose St wasn’t a very good team so he gets a clean slate. He does have the ability to drive the lane and finish however, which is something Rutgers has not had in forever.

With proper floor spacing, Agee can have productive games in the BigTen against dudes close to his size.

I’m more worried about Agee playing defense as a center in the BigTen (lucky for him he’ll not be matched up against the starter often). I’m also very worried about Reiber defensively.

Probably not…they need him at center for 15 minutes per game at least (and Reiber probably isn’t up to 245 pounds) but Agee’s game reminds me of a throwback power forward type….with spin moves…can play with back to the basket…good footwork in the lane…etc.

Im less worried about it because of what he was asked to do at SJSU vs what his role is going to be here. Seems like he had to have the ball in his hands a lot and ended up having to facilitate quite a bit because that team was terrible. That’s not going to be his role here.

After reading some of the comments here I"m surprised a smaller conference team or smaller conference players would ever score against the big bad B1G defenses. Why bother. You're gonna miss, get your shot blocked or turn the ball over.

Hey, and that foul line extended shot you make in your small conference, don't even try that in the B1G...it will never go in.

Mulcahy. Paul dribble drives across the lane, no looks the ball out to Baker at top of the key. Paul slowly sneaks over to “his spot” on the wing. Meanwhile Baker fakes a step back jumper and in mid-air dishes to Harper on the other wing. Harper dribbles baseline and pops it out to Agee who’s now unguarded at the foul line. Agee finds a wide open Mulcahy for a very open and very efficient three pointer…
If Paul’s man closes out on him, then he behind-his-backs a pass to Baker for some more dribbling and then the usual late-shot-clock step back miraculous jumper…

SJSU was TERRIBLE last year. Agee was far away their best player, so he was asked to essentially play point center. He won’t have to be the primary ball handler for us, so I expect those turnover numbers will substantially drop

That’s good to hear that he was far and away their best player since I did not see them play at all. Quick glance showed he was their 2nd leading scorer and 3rd or 4th best rebounder. I agree he won’t be handling the ball here since those TO numbers are worrisome. Hope he can adjust to the step up in competition. He does have a rep for being physical which is a good thing.

I totally agree he was brought in to back up CO and play against the backup centers in the BIG. But, in a perfect world, Reiber is now 245 pounds, can play solid D against opposing centers and consistently hit threes. I’m really just saying Agee has a nice throwback power forward game with some point forward skills to boot. As a starting BigTen player, he would have major problems with quite a few BigTen centers.
Heck, even Indiana has a 7 foot transfer from USF and Maryland grabbed a 6-11 big from Gtown.

He'd have an option for 2, no? This year didn't count for eligibility, so while he'd ordinarily be a 5th year Sr with just one year of eligibility left, wouldn't he have 2 because his senior year at SJSU wouldn't be counted?
