Totally agree but he’s not getting 25+ minutes here with Cliff.

Hopefully he was bored to death in Starkvegas and is looking for some action.
I'm not sure what others saw last year but Cliff is still really raw. Expecting much improvement this year but while he's got incredible athleticism he has a lot to learn

The same question will pop up as always: Will someone who started almost every game at his former institution come here as a backup? Fingers crossed anyway.
As I've said several times over the past month, Rutgers needs to target a high-performing big-man from a low to mid major conference to be it's backup Center. There just aren't enough available minutes for a high-major Center transfer.

Come on guys. The only way a a player comes to Rutgers via the portal is because he thinks he can get equal or more playing time. Even lower level guys want to go pro somewhere and playing 10 minutes a game at Rutgers doesnt help. They are much better off staying in a lower level conference and being the POY than a backup at rutgers. To be honest, even if cliff doesn't progress as much as we want him to he still needs to play 30 minutes a game for the health of the overall program.

It would be great if a solid back up falls into RU's lap but I think you have to be prepared to go with what you've got. Meaning Reiber, small line-up with Hyatt as your big guy, or even Nathan getting a few minutes a la Mamadou. My concern is the games where Cliff gets into foul trouble. It seems like it takes big guys two solid seasons to learn to play defense without fouling. And we know how the Big 10 officials love to foul our big men out of the game.

Even if a big guy comes, he's likely to be a lesser talent. Let's keep fingers crossed that Reiber can give us good minutes up front this year. And if I'm wrong and they grab someone with great upside, I'll be thrilled.

Someone like CJ Gettys would be nice.
