I love the dramatic effect but nah. Those puppies get up to 7-8 pages, combine all the threads on this and you're maybe at 3. Also yes under Ash playing two hand touch the Spring Game was boring but my season ticket group always loved going. Just because you don't like or never have been to the Spring Game doesn't mean you talk for the majority.

Hell during Greg's last go around we were drawing in the 20K range when he had things humming. I remember it being a great source of pride around these parts as we would out draw everyone in the conference. Even when Ash was dragging us to the gates of hell we were drawing almost 10K.
They were on Saturday afternoon tied in with Earth Day festivities not a Thursday at night.

Earth Day? Come on bus🤣 AG Field day(don't call it that abortion Rutgers Day) but I get your point. And yes Greg did tie it all in together on purpose to get as many fans as possible to the Spring Game. That's why I can't believe he's happy about a 5,000 limit.

Again it’s the principle, along with piss poor decisions in the past, being tone deaf of the current situation and continuing to move the goalposts

Riddle me this - why would he be commenting on winter sports 7 months ahead of time? What good does it do?

People have been locked down yet compliant for the past year, and they’re sick of it.

State is at 30 %, we’re at 1/4 of that. Let that sink in for a minute - spring game or not, that’s not normal.

And along w his previous comments re winter sports and barring a complete 180, this doesn’t bode well for the fall / winter sports.

Anyone not seeing the indirect yet obvious coorelation here is, to quote Andy Dufrane, being obtuse

We as Rutgers Fans need to start calling this ridiculous policy to our NJ State Leaders now !
The Fall Football season starts in a little over 4 months. The pressure on Holloway’s absurd policy and it’s devastating impact on RU Athletics needs to start now before it’s too late. Attached is a Link to voice your displeasure to our NJ Governor:

I think we strive to be elite level but the reality is we are not close in terms of fan support and $. What was our largest crowd for a spring game? There are passionate group of fans but that’s still not a big enough group to have any influence.
A little bit chicken and egg here. If we had the seasons OSU, UM and PSU regularly have we would have more fan support and dollars. 2006 RU UL was a hot ticket and the Empire State building was lit red. I think someone at the Turnpike even got in trouble for putting up supportive messages on their dynamic message signs. If Schiano can get the winning going the people and money will follow.

It was Earth Day celebration when I was there 😂

I would think Schiano is annoyed at only 5K, just like the rest of us. I'm still very curious if the 5K number is based on an assumption that they're only opening the lower bowl on the RU side, 30% of which is about 5K. I actually sent an email to a few folks I know in the athletic dept. to see if they can confirm that and, if so, why they wouldn't at least open up the other side to get to 10K allowed or the whole lower bowl to get to 13K allowed (30% of 43K).

I’m pretty sure there’s demand there for 10-15K attending, based on the excitement generated by Greg’s return, the team well exceeding expectations last year, and Greg’s brewing monster recruiting class, and at the very least, the University needs to explain why only 5K are being allowed, which has not been done to anyone’s satisfaction, as we discussed in the locked thread on this. Seems like an easy thing to do (even if they had to charge $5 to defray the increased staffing costs of opening up more of the stadium) and will result in good PR and good will from the fanbase.

I also asked if they could confirm the messaging from the ticket reps around the upcoming football season being assumed to be "normal" with regard to attendance if certain criteria are met; not expecting an answer on this one, as Holloway clearly said much would depend on vaccination uptake rates and case rates by June, which we can project to be good by then. I think we'll be below Fauci's target of 10K cases/day he stated for "returning to normal" as I think we'll be at 70+% vaccinated adults by late June which, along with 35+% infected/recovered/immune (some overlap in those populations) should get us below 10K cases/day. Israel is already there on a per capita basis and we should be close to their vaccination level in 6-8 weeks. So please, get your vaccines so we can all return to RU football games and regular life.

Like I said earlier...just give us the “why” part of it.

Doesn’t mean we have to like it but it would be nice to have some sort of explanation.

Hope you get us an answer.

So you can complain about the "why" instead of the "what?" Because that's what will happen. 100 percent

did you get your cutouts? I got an email from Rutgers a few weeks ago saying they were being sent out but no tracking info has been sent and they haven't arrived yet....mask or no mask.
yes.. 2 sent to FLA.. no autographs ordered.. but paid the $25 each (I think it was) for shipping. They were in the center-court section on the players side.. it could be they are working section by section.. and the end-court might be the biggest job saved for last. I did order fairly early.. say.. in the 2nd wave... I forget the first game I spotted them on TV.. usually during opening jump-ball. Could be just lucky as to what section they went in and are being removed-from.

when did you get them? I ordered the first day they were available...ended up in section 108. Did not get autographs either, did pay for the shipping.

I'm going to be p-i-s-s-e-d if they are lost

Got them Saturday last. I'm a pretty good guesser and I'd say your delay is evidence that they saved the big end court sections for last. They arrived in perfect condition btw,

1. I don't really care either way. I've gone to SG in the past but not since GS 1.0 years. Wasn't going this year.

2. If Holloway orignally said "Capacity set at 15k. Gov Murphy rules." then the complaining (if any) would be at Gov. Murphy.

If Holloway came out and said "5k because our science says 30% isn't safe" then the blame goes to Gov. Murphy for being unsafe.

If Holloway comes out and says "5k is 30% of 1 side of lower level. We don't want to pay to open up more of the stadium because of expenses" that would look bad for the AD but at least can blame reduced donations and game revenues.

In absense of any identifiable reason, Holloway is just leaving himself up to criticism.

I can't even find any of the emails. You have a contact number from an email anywhere?
I found an email from fancutouts.com not sure if they end up shipping them or if Rutgers does... at the bottom of the order confirmation email I saw this:

If you have any questions, reply to this email or contact us at [email protected] and please include your team name and order number.

The email was from fancutouts.com and the email title was

Order XXXXX confirmed (5 digit order number) mine was from 11/23/20 I'd assume yours would be up to a week earlier

I hope they made a fair profit on all this.. because they responded to a unique need very quickly and built a whole business around it.. the American capitalist dream.. recognize a need, seize the opportunity.. satisfy a need.. profit.

Murphy announced 50% capacity for large outdoor venues.

To take effect May 10. It's time for Rutgers to make an adjustment to their 5,000 restriction, unless they're too cheap and/or don't want to take the effort to open up the entire Stadium, if demand for tickets dictates such action. Their restriction is not about State Guidelines, nor Science.

Heard through the grapevine today that greg is not happy about the crowd limit for the spring game. And his staff is certainly in Holloway’s ears about it. Will it make a difference? Stay tuned,

Also heard the coaching staff is planing for regular summer HS camps on campus this summer though they’ve not yet been given the OK from Holloway to hold them.

One thing I will give Schiano. He knows how to create waves. He might try a softer touch some time, he might be amazed how beneficial that could be.

At the very least, get it up to 10,000 with at least 1,000 set aside for high school players and coaches.— Should be 16,000, but I will be stunned if he backtracks that far.
I think 10K is a number both could live with. The Stadium holds approximately 53000 So 10,000 would only be 19% of capacity. That is well below current outdoor seating limits imposed by Trenton of 33% soon to go up to 50%. Ideally I would like to see 15,000 allowed but 10,000 is the number we are shooting for. Wokeman Holloway probably doesn't have it in him to go against his woke peers and embracing the woke agenda.

So Murphy says we can have 26,200 on May 20th. Balls now in your court Holloway. Let's see what he does or does he stick with the "CAMPUS GUIDANCE" moniker.
Or we could start bombarding Holloways office with emails and calls to increase Spring game capacity! LOL!

You were smart to not to pay for autographs. Because those of us who did, didn't get autographs. Didn't complain about this one, just chalked it up to Rutgers is going to Rutgers.

I heard that with the new parental notification bill for underage possession of alcohol, members of the Middlesex County Sheriff's Department no longer want the time & a half to work Rutgers games. Members said it's not worth their while if they can't fill up their ticket books and harass otherwise law abiding children.

Hardly unqualified. Sad that you think it was a race based hire. Who would you have picked since you know prospective candidates so well? There is NOTHING worse than people spouting off with no facts behind their argument.

How is this whining? I paid extra for something and didn't receive what I paid for, I pointed out it was a waste of money as Rutgers didn't deliver on the signatures. Is it a regular occurrence in your life to pay for goods or services and get nothing in return?
