Had my second Pfizer shot Wednesday. Other than a little soreness at the injection site, no side effects. Same experience with my first one
+1CVS in Flemington!
Exactly my experience as well with the Pfizer vaccine. My wife felt a little tired after shot #2.Had my second Pfizer shot Wednesday. Other than a little soreness at the injection site, no side effects. Same experience with my first one
Damn I’m jealous of all of you not getting any reaction to the second dose. I still have a fever (100.8), chills, aches.
A more severe reaction is not proof that one’s immune system is better than someone else’s. All it means is the vaccine is stimulating a response within the body . The majority of people seem to have very less severe responses than vice / versa. Sore arms, some aches , some minor chills or fever and usually short lived. Moderna appears to have more of a severe reaction in some recipients than Pfizer. I don’t buy the theory that the more severe a reaction the better the immune response. Also the immune response and having a robust immune system are different from each other.actually it’s just the opposite. more severe side effects are a signal of a more robust immune response which is why the more severe reactions are generally in younger people and women.
It is not experimental.....the clinical trial patients are being followed since they received the vaccine and so far in 6 months of follow up since the last patient was dosed they have demonstrated at least 6 months of protection in the group that received the vaccine. It is likely going to extend beyond that but they need to keep following the patients to make the claim. There will be a lot of real world evidence as well and it’s highly likely the protection will be quite a bit more than 6 months. You’re co worker is to put it bluntly....an idiot.
I had the same thing. 2nd dose at 130pm yesterday. Same symptoms. By 1pm I feel 100%.Got my second dose of Pfizer yesterday morning at 10:30. I was fine all day other than soreness at the injection site. Woke up this morning like I got run over by a truck. Fever, chills, hot, body aches all over, feel like I want to nap every 2 hours. Staying in bed watching the Yankees game and then the Final Four.
I just want to know how they judge effectiveness when at least 50% of people who get covid don't know show symptoms. Are they all being swabbed daily? Do those people still social d and wear masks? Seems like at a minimum a placebo would prove 60% effective.actually it’s just the opposite. more severe side effects are a signal of a more robust immune response which is why the more severe reactions are generally in younger people and women.

What is your issue besides being afraid of getting a shot?I just want to know how they judge effectiveness when at least 50% of people who get covid don't know show symptoms. Show me a trial where people get the vaccine and walk through a covid wing without any ppe and don't come down with the virus.
Yesterday morning.
I got my vaccine - I just don't want to be a blind sheep. If these things really don't work I want to know. LolWhat is your issue besides being afraid of getting a shot?
Look at Israel and the 6-month data just realized by Pfizer. Remember, the clinical trial patients will be tracked for at least 2 years. The are well ahead of us and will be tested to see how long the vaccine works. So far so good!I got my vaccine - I just don't want to be a blind sheep. If these things really don't work I want to know. Lol

You touched upon something that definitely has been see with the Moderna vaccine in women. A possible more severe reaction after dose #2 has shown up with fever, chills and general malaise and flu like body aches. All things aside It is disappointing to see that some are still claiming deadly effects from these vaccines . Not impossible but seems quite unlikely.the immune response is influenced by many factors and it’s been shown that women mount a stronger immune response (and more severe side effects) to the COVID and other vaccines. Likely due to estrogen and other genetic factors since many immune related genes are located on the X chromosome. I didn’t say that people don’t have severe side effects have no or a poor response just that the severe effects seem to be associated with the strongest responses. Moderna may encode for a slightly different piece of viral mRNA than Pfizer and also encapsulates it in a different lipid which can also account for the difference in reactions. And before you ask, yes, I am an immunologist.
Who says they don't work besides those that won't want to get it??I got my vaccine - I just don't want to be a blind sheep. If these things really don't work I want to know. Lol
So........... this whole conversation is about understanding how they arrive at their efficacy rates. My question is what efficacy rate does the placebo have?Who says they don't work besides those that won't want to get it??

I’m almost 2 months out from my 2nd Moderna shot now. Still alive and kicking. Anyone not getting this is being selfish and not playing with a full deck . Glad to see all my normal healthy buddies getting it now.
Woke up this morning, fever gone. Bit of a lingering headache, but overall back to normal.Got my second dose of Pfizer yesterday morning at 10:30. The effectiveness of the vaccine is based on the measure of antibodies generated following vaccination.I just want to know how they judge effectiveness when at least 50% of people who get covid don't know show symptoms. It was a question ... not a spreading of misinformation. Where did you cull that from?"So it sounds as though if you don’t have a more severe reaction then you will have less protection ? No reaction = No benefit?"
no, please don't spread misinformation
