Myles the Rhodes Scholar?

[ouchmyknee]

Was talking to a friend today about whether Myles comes back. I’m in the camp that he’s leaving. My friend said, “yeah, he’s heading to Oxford”. I think my friend was joking, but it’s not completely crazy to think Myles prob could be a Rhodes Scholar if he applied. I wonder if he did.

Bump since this got buried

I think the Rhodes Scholar program is more oriented to liberal arts types. Back in the 80’s Steve Perry from the basketball team progressed pretty far in the process and RU made a big deal about it. So silence regarding Myles probably is a no.

Wasn’t Perry the one who came up with the idea of the Get Ready for Battle poster, where John Battle was standing on a tank? Or was that just an RU tale?

Don’t know.

I remember those posters. Funny

Not true Myron Rolle was a Rhodes Scholar Brain Surgeon is not liberal arts

Myles certainly has the tools to be one.

Not the case. Randall Pinkett (Apprentice fame) was a Rutgers electrical engineering grad, class of 94 and he got his master's at Oxford in computer science. Then came back stateside and got advanced degrees from MIT.

Well Rhodes would be nice. As much as I'd love him to stay it would hard for anyone with his career aspirations to pass on a masters in comp sci or engineering from Stanford along with another year of hoops. Plus he is a Cali kid.

Wasn't he also a Rutgers athlete? Track I think.

Yep, he was on the track & field team.

Steve Perry ?

Don’t remember him. Remember Lee Perry I believe from Freehold.

[BIGRUBIGDBIGredmachine]

Joe Perry. Great one.

[Mike from MD]

Doubt there has ever been a Rhodes scholar as tall as Myles. He would be the "Colossus of Rhodes".
