Every national commercial is thoroughly focus-group tested with its target audience. If I find a commercial annoying, it could be because I am not part of that target audience. Those of us "of a certain age" are generally not. Why? Because our brand preferences are pretty much established. The advertisers are often wasting their time talking to us. So they don't bother.

Practically everything I watch is recorded. So I skip by the commercials. Yes, even last nights game, which I started watching after 10pm. I even skip half time.

for me, its not about THE commercial. Its about the Chinese water torture of seeing the same one 20 times in a 2 hour span.

I hate the Liberty Mutual commercials also but guess what? You remember their name, which is the point of marketing.

Liberty Mutual should fire their ad agency ASAP. I can't remember their last commercial I did not cringe at.

"You are without doubt the worst pirate I've ever heard of."
"...but you HAVE heard of me...."

I am in that older age group and I find the premise of many commercials fascinating.

in the corporate world for decades it was always the goal to sell things at a “bundled” price where you were not nickled and dined over the details(that’s why car salesmen ask what you want to pay per month, hoping to negotiate car price, interest rate and trade in one bundle to make the most money).

I never would have dreamed that people would buy car insurance from Progressive based on “tell us what you will pay us and we will decide what coverage you get”, or pay monthly fees to have a company send a meal or clothing THEY decide to give you.

The All State singing hood ornament creeped me out at first, but the commercial has grown on me.

Think about how much money a company like Tesla saves by not advertising a single solitary bit. Insurance companies are basically marketing companies bundled with a risk management and compliance department.

I have two little kids and it’s fascinating to watch them learn about brands because the old guys like us to of course we know what these brands are but to him he’s never heard of any of these in his entire life but will about 10,000 more times.
