Every national commercial is thoroughly focus-group tested with its target audience. If I find a commercial annoying, it could be because I am not part of that target audience. Those of us "of a certain age" are generally not. Why? Because our brand preferences are pretty much established. The advertisers are often wasting their time talking to us. So they don't bother.
I am in that older age group and I find the premise of many commercials fascinating.
in the corporate world for decades it was always the goal to sell things at a “bundled” price where you were not nickled and dined over the details(that’s why car salesmen ask what you want to pay per month, hoping to negotiate car price, interest rate and trade in one bundle to make the most money).
I never would have dreamed that people would buy car insurance from Progressive based on “tell us what you will pay us and we will decide what coverage you get”, or pay monthly fees to have a company send a meal or clothing THEY decide to give you.
