Brad Wachtel has us as the top 10 seed and per an article with Jerry Carino, here are our likely opponents not in any type of order with several having some interesting story lines:

1. UConn
2. Oregon
3. Loyola of Chicago
4. Oklahoma
5. BYU
6. San Diego State

don't want Oregon. The whole Eugene story will be too much of a distraction

Wachtel said we’re on the 9/10 line but given how we lost to Illinois- we dropped to be the top 10 seed team. Thus I’m sure 6 possible opponents identified are 7 and 8 seed projections.
I’d personally prefer 10 and if we win first round game - it’s possibly Houston or Alabama instead of Gonzaga or Baylor.

Bac - do you have any additional possible opponents if we re a 9 or 10 seed? I think you have us as a 9 seed.

I think its pretty safe to say we are either a 9 or 10. 10 if Ga Tech wins the ACC they will slide over us. 10 if they decide that St Bonnies as A10 champ should be at least a 9.

As a 9 our possible opponents are.....

Oklahoma
Clemson
Virginia Tech
UConn
San Diego State
Loyola
LSU
North Carolina
Florida

as a 10 our possible opponents are....

Oklahoma
LSU
BYU
Oregon
San Diego State
Colorado
Clemson

Colorado will likely move to 6 if they win the Pac 12 tourney I think in that case Oregon may move down to 7 and be in play for RU

I am not sure if the committee will slot UNC and UConn over Rutgers on the seed list but tend to think so

RU has no chance vs Oregon, we want to avoid them at all costs

We play well when we play teams that don’t rely on the 3. We can score with those teams. I fear a team that averages 10+ threes a game.

I don't get the fear of UConn.

Creighton strangled them last night.

They are really not a good offensive team. Their scoring numbers are skewed by a couple blow out wins where they ran It up on lousy teams i.e. DePaul & Central Connecticut

The majority of their games have been played in the 60s or low 70s. Plus, a lot of their scoring comes from 1 player (Boughnight).

As far as being well coached, Danny is a good recruiter but not much of an X&O guy.

I'd take my chances with them over some of the other teams listed

Can’t wait to watch and listen to every damn show and podcast the next few days. Finally our name is in the convo.
I always feel like in these top conferences there is always a lower seeded team that makes a run. WHY NOT RU. THIS IS OUR TIME.

RU only has one opponent to fear.... themselves
****** slow starts and constant shooting yourself in the foot.
Indiana out Rutgered Rutgers and lost to us.
When RU is firing on all cylinders, they should have nobody to fear. Not so much about opponents - more so, which inconsistent, bipolar Rutgers will show up. It's not like they don't have the ability cuz we've all seen them do it. Tez is himself a microcosm of this team and at times looks like an elite athlete and other times looks like he couldn't play kickball on a grade school playground.

At this point who cares, I don't think as fans we can have any level of confidence in a w the way this team has played this year.

Slow starts,no confidence, jekyll and hyde. Let's just hope coming off a Loss the right team shows up.

I fear they've been so hard pressed to make the tournament since last year the moment might be too big for them. Really hope to be wrong about that.

If we end up as the 10th seed I'll take it. As long as we're not in the 8/9 game, that gives us a fighting chance to win the first round and play the 4th #2 seed.

Oklahoma has been awful lately but they are battle tested and super athletic . Would rather have mizzou or a west coast team
I'll answer your question: I fine with Mizzou and a PAC-12 team that's not named Colorado. I think all of the other teams are soft and beatable.

I personally don't want anything to do with the chance we get beat by a falling out of bounds bank shot buzzer beater by you know who at Oregon.

You just know the devil has his hands on the rug already.

Not that the team needs any more motivation than simply playing in a tournament game, but I feel like facing Omoruyi and playing with an extra chip on their shoulder might serve this group well right now — just a little something extra to spark this group

I would normally agree but I do not see any extra motivation from these guys recently. They've had a bunch of chances to leverage that feeling but not seeing it. Don't trust em. This team's motivations appear individual based for most of them.

I am not sweating over who we could be matched up against. Every team in the Top 40 is pretty good. I am grateful we should hear our name called and I think our chances in the first round should be a good chance of winning. We must do all of the things that we have done well at and stay together as a team and not commit too many fouls. I think there is a chance we could wind up with St. Bonaventure or Oregon. Either way whoever we play I am grateful and will treasure the moment.
