I'm thinking Turley, Kannaird, and Janzer get at larges. Would love to see Shawver get one as well but not sure he will.

Shawver has a chance, but it is very low
His win over McKee might give him an edge....

Kanniard chances are broken down at length in another post and it appears his chance is less than slim

I would say 2 is the most likely scenario with a very, very outside chance at a 3rd between Shawver / Kanniard

There is word starting to trickle out that the B1G will be get screwed during the seeding process due to the matrix used and not having enough data (matches) so they are coming up short on quality win points, etc. Again, this going by the letter of the matrix and not human input/corrections.

For example, at 285 there is talk that Parris would be seeded 5th and at 141 Lee and Rivera would be 4th/5th respectively, which puts Eierman, Lee, and Rivera all on the same side of the bracket. Both of those situations are extremely laughable and a complete joke. Hopefully the committee injects some human element into the seeding process and looks at them objectively given that each conference's schedule was not equal.

With that being said, if not, it looks like the B1G once again screwed it's members.

Isn’t the point of pre-seeds to allow humans to weigh in and make slight adjustments where necessary? It would be insane if those 3 guys end up together.
I agree (and hope) but it's also insane that a league without the Ivies competing this year still got 45 qualifiers but here we are...

Yup. That right there shows me the NCAA is just lazy and doesn't care to do the work, so prepare to be screwed by this too.

If Shawver wrestled the whole year or even won another match in the B1G tournament he absolutely gets in. I was looking at the at-large selections for 125 and saw that Zurich Storm (Campbell) was selected.
  • He was 8-5 on the year in the SoCon conference
  • 2 of the those wins for forfeits against Ohio & Davidson so he has only 6 real wins to 5 loses.
  • His wins were against: VMI, Gardner-Webb, The Citadel, Bellarmine, and Chattanooga
  • 5 of out 6 wins had losing records (20 - 44 combined)
  • His lone win against someone with a winning record was an 8-6 dec in SV against Fabian Gutierrez (Chattanooga) who went 13-3 in the SoCon
That's an absolute joke as Shawver beat a higher ranked opponent, wrestled significantly tougher opponents, and all of his loses were against NQs. If the quad or even the Maryland match doesn't get cancelled and Shawver gets in another win, he should have received an large selection over someone like this.

Agree. I guess best takeaway is that it’s a “free” year so him and Kanniard still have chance to qualify 4x since Kanniard redshirted last year and Shawver is only a true freshman.

Maybe in hindsight after Aguilar was pinned consecutively Shawver should have been inserted into the lineup.
