You see how good Illinois is when they hit on all cylinders. One of three elites in league

They are always able to move the ball
They have guards that can dribble drive to the basket and also make 3 pointers.Illinois also has Coburn at center which will make them a top tier team in the NCAA Tournament.

I think there are four elite teams Michigan,Ohio State.Illinois and Iowa. which have the fire power to at least reach the sweet sixteen in the NCAA Tournament and one reach the final four.

The teams a lot of people here look up to like Illinois and Iowa don’t use a traditional 4. Don’t really need one.

Illinois has always been the best team in the conference for me and Ayo big ten player of the year. Part of the reason my expectations were so high after playing them. Even though I don’t think we can play much better than we did and we didn’t get Illinois best.

Illinois does not always play with focus, so that is their weakness so they are beatable at times. I think Michigan and OSU have consistently put out better efforts each game. Illinois though could be the best of them

Stop with the ******** on Rutgers. We beat them flat out and we’re up 10 before they hit the last 2 meaningless threes . They just had life and death struggles with Nebraska and Northwestern and needed Ayo to bail them out. Ohio State beat them at their place. Your take is terrible

Scary stuff from Illinois today. Bit of a Jeckyll & Hyde team but definitely at the top of the conference in talent.

Total ********. We match up really well with them and we played smart unlike how we are playing now. Ron had Giorgi on him at the elbow and drove and took him to the hole 3 straights times. Can only hope Ron gets back to that mindset because his mindset stinks right now. We do not even need him hitting threes like he was early , but we need him attacking the glass, getting on the offensive backboard as well as boxing out on the defensive backboard. Ron was also an elite defender last year and he has allowed his offensive struggles to affect his defense and shot blocking. I have no problem drawing Illinois in the Big 10 tourney. We have not played to our potential this year and it is frustrating but there is still time.

Yeah today things clicked. Guess you weren’t saying that after their Nebraska and Northwestern escapes.

Winning is ALL that matters. And Illinois has done it seven times in a row and have beaten a lot of good teams this year, with zero bad losses (NETwise).
True but even you as an Illini fan, must get frustrated with your team when you see what they are capable of today. Rutgers also has caused great frustration with our fan base for failure to play to our potential, which makes every fan scratch their head. One subpar performance in the Tourney and you are out.

100%. However, we play some key freshmen and Kofi is still only a sophomore, and I’ve been pleased with the development. Was expecting another nail biter today, though, I must admit! Lol
