Has anyone seen Diamond Johnson play? She's a frosh who can do it all--bring the ball up as a PG, score from anywhere on the court & play excellent D. Leads the Nation[I assume for women] with .537% from 3, hits the pull up, elbow jumper & floater from 2 & can drive & slash to the hoop &, oh yeah, can knock down FT's. Has scored in double figures in all of RU's games. Hit for 26 against the Gophers last night.

This team has a chance to be special. Opponents cannot just double 'ella as Johnson is a scorer and fearless. Wish she hadn't taken that last three as she was perfect from 3 before that AND with all the players who don't get much playing time in the game would have liked her to try to set up a teammate. With Mack and Giles both better scoring threats than they were in earlier years this team can be hard to defend.

I started a thread on the women's board this morning saying she may be the best 3 points shooter ever mens or women besides Quincy; also she happens to be from the same high school as our newest 4 star football committment in Philly

I've watched several of the games, and she is a deadeye shooter, but can also drive and dish. She's not terribly fast -- she has a stout build, rather than one of those short, fast guards -- but she's deceptively quick, and very smart, so she PLAYS fast.

With Guirantes, Johnson's emergence gives RU two legit "stars" and two legit scorers, and reduces the need for T-Mack to force things. Mack is better as a third option, and she's been playing really well in that role since returning from the elbow injury.

And, under the radar, Taia Singleton has been a nice surprise at the 5 spot.

What is so amazing about Johnson is that her height doesn't prevent her from taking and making all types of shots. The womens team is now scoring over 70 points a game and defeating opponents by double digits.Rutgers should be ranked.and get a favorable NCAA seed.

CVIiv has the players, gotta get ‘me to mesh. Gotta get into the tourney with a decent seed as I don’t think we can handle nation’s Top Ten.

Absolute pleasure to watch their games. If they get healthy, they have a chance to do some good things in conference and national tournaments.
