Had many over the years:

Staying at the old Dunes Casino in Las Vegas, saw many of the 76ers who were also staying there. This was when Charles Barkley was drafted. Funny seeing him sitting at the two dollar blackjack table. Julius Erving and Marc Ivaroni were sitting at a separate unlimited blackjack table. Saw the two of them later outside, both nice guys, actually stopped and talked to us few a little. Saw Moses Malone, lets just say not a fan of his after seeing him.

Met Thomas Hearns at a club in NYC, talked to him for a few, really great guy.

Saw Marvin Hagler in Caesars Palace parking lot. Was walking with my friends, I saw him drive past us, I said out loud, hey that was Marvin Hagler, he heard me, stopped his old caddy, put it in reverse and pulled up to us. Talked with us for a few minutes, class act.

Was in the crowd at the Hearns vs. Hagler fight. Someone sitting behind us had binoculars. He said who is the girl sitting with the number 3 under her seat ring side. He handed me the binoculars, I looked and said, that's Bo Derek, everyone reached to grab the binoculars. This was 1985.

Saw a drunk Don Rickles walking thru Caesars Palace late at night making fun of everyone he saw, was hilarious. His handlers were trying everything to control him.

Saw Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver in Caesars, dressed to the nines. Noticed her first, she looked good that night.

Saw Holly Robinson in NYC window shopping. This was just after she was in 21 Jump Street. Smiled and waved, pretty girl.

Was punched in the arm by George Foreman. I was walking towards him, I was wearing a Minnesota Vikings hat. He said Vikings, and sent a jab my way, knocked me back about 5 feet. We laughed, talked to him for a while. Finally I said, listen George I got to go, he would have talked all day, really nice guy.

Might be a few others I cannot think of right now. but the funniest was one that didn't happen to me. It happened to a friends father. His father worked in NYC. He was going into a building using a revolving door. When is got in the door, someone gets on behind him and starts pushing really hard and fast. The door goes too fast for him to get out. Finally after a full rotation, the door slows down and he gets out. The guy behind him gets out also, and as he reaches for his own tie, he says, hey I can never figure out these doors, its Rodney Dangerfield.

Edit: Saw Dave Attell writing jokes on the hood of a car before an appearance on Tough Crowd. As Colin Quinn stumbled down the street towards the show, obviously had a few before the gig.

Just recalled, saw Marisa Tomei while she was filming The Wrestler. She walked past me in the bar, smiled. Little girl, very pretty.

Saw Tom Cruise while he was filming War of the Worlds. Came over to the barricades and talked, posed for pictures, held babies for pictures for everyone in the line. Was nice to everyone. Shook his hand.

Trump National Bedminster.

Prior to his walking down the 'golden escalator'.

Shook his hand and told him I had 8 family votes for him if he ran.
He laughed and he must have listened....

Pre TDS anywhere....

(It wasn't the first time I had met him, before was on the political chicken dinner circuit in NYC).

Met Jan Stephenson, former LPGA golfer, at a wine event and had a fun conversation and a bunch of photos of us holding onto one another. Nice lady and I like her Aussie accent a lot. Disappointed when she didn’t ask for digits, or at least invite me to a golf outing. 😀

Was eating dinner at Tavern on the Green. Went to the bathroom and I'm standing at the urinal and who's standing next to me: Peter O'Toole. I said something stupid like "I really enjoy your work" and his response was "Thanks but I don't think we should shake hands."
Use to go to Mickey Mantle's on Central Park West when Bill Mazer had his mid day show on WFAN. Met a few celebs there including the Mick and O. J. Simpson.
Also met Bo Derek at Chris Noth's club, The Cutting Room, in Manhattan.

Do Rutgers basketball players who played in the NBA count? I knew all of them, as they worked summers at our family business. All were personable, friendly guys. Roy Hinson, I saw often until he retired and moved to Florida.

Saw Kia Vaughn on the train, I said hello and offered her my seat. She smiled but declined, said she wanted to stand.

Too many to recite but my favorite encounter was about 12 years ago when I worked at UBS in Jersey City, my co-worker Andre was the brother of NY Rangers legend Rod Gilbert, well the Rangers & Devils were playing at the Rock one night and Andre was going to meet Rod at a restaurant near the arena but he never been there before so I offered to guide him via the PATH, on our way he asked if I wanted to meet "The Legend" and I was like hell ya!

We arrive at Scullys in Newark where Rod is holding court with his fans, sat down me and the Gilbert brothers and Rod asks if I would like to go to the game, of course I said hell ya again and off we went, it was pouring rain and Rod had the two of us share his umbrella as mine was destroyed, we get there and sat in Devils owner suite and got totally **** faced, what a character he was, we were like old drinking buddies. One of the greatest nights I ever had in my life.

3 month encounter with Drew Barrymore just prior to her marriage to the one ball wonder...

Know a number of professional football players and coaches.

Ariana Grande- wife has known her Aunt for 20 years. Around 2008 we all went on vacation in Virgin Gorda- rented a villa (Caribbean Winds) - she and older brother Frank joined their Aunt during out 10 days there. She was still very young and only just started to get any real opportunities. I think, Nickelodeon at that time.

Met Tom Green, A Silverstone, Stuttering John, Ed Norton, Fred Durst at a party in 2002 watching Giants blow out Minny...Same party I first met Drew.

Wife knows LL Cool J, Kid in Play and others from her time on the runway and MTV. Was in LL's most well known video...

Recently met Steve Case(AOL) - working with his foundation. Had to actually give him a technology presentation.

Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins working with them at the firehouse in Gramercy Park immediately after 9/11

Patrick Ewing on a trip back from Jamaica- real funny story. He is in 1st class and me and my kids in back...Get off the plane and I point out to my kids who it is. My boys at that time were 8 and 10. So- I introduce them to him. Nicest guy ever...He is walking with us to the turnstyles. Takling with my boys the whole time. My kids had to pee and asked if they could go- Ewing sees I have all of their bags and realize it may be difficult for me. He offers "I have to go too...If you are ok with it, I will take your boys and make sure they are ok"...I tell him it is ok and wait outside watching everyones bags. They come out, we all go to luggage and say our goodbyes. I still joke to them to this day that they get to brag that the "hung out" with Patrick Ewing- pun intended. lol

Staub? I met Rusty at his restaurant...and with as many football players I have met over the years- still the biggest hands I have ever seen. Totally wrapped my hand in a shake and just massive.

In December 1986, not long after the Mets WS victory, I met Ron Darling. He was filming a workout video with his personal trainer at a health club in Union. The club was closed so there were only the people working on the video. My sister was the production assistant so she got me in. He was married to a super model who was not there but he had a stunningly beautiful woman with him. Turns out it was his stylist. He introduced me to her and said her name was Tomorrow. That just didn't register with my brain which was overwhelmed and i stammered a hello. Have to say that in 1986, Ron Darling was a good looking dude.
Was at a crowded bar in Secaucus, late 80's maybe, with a buddy who had played college soccer and had once played an exhibition against the Cosmos. He recognized famed Cosmos midfielder, Vladislav Bogicevec, "Bogie" so we went up to talk. Spent the evening buying him drinks. Realized at one point that while we were buying him drinks, he was sending drinks to some girls across the bar.. He was like Steve Martin as a wild and crazy guy,

I talked to a lot of pro football players since Jets used to practice in my town (babysat Don Maynard's kids). I also went to football camp for a week and talked with Willie Lanier (he spat on my shoe by accident after jogging on track), Bradshaw, Eddie Bell, Bubba Smith (not a nice guy) and some others.

My fav though is seeing Kevin Kline in a bookstore in Cold Spring NY. I saw him at register paying for a book. As I went down an aisle, I turned a corner and standing there in sweats was Kevin's wife Phoebe Cates. I had a big Canon camera around my neck, and when she saw it I could tell she thought I was going to take her pic like a paparazzi . Being in casual mode she wasn't happy. I told her "I'm just a tourist" and she laughed. Looking back, I should have snapped the hen's pic.

I was also once an extra in a movie scene with a Penthouse Pet of the Year. We chatted a bit about the film while waiting for camera. As I moved away I overheard her tell another actress "That guy's good looking." I never looked at pets and playmates the same after that

Forgot one of my favorite...in the 80's when working at IBM...They would have a raffle for Jet's and Giant's tickets. I won Jet's tickets and was the 2nd to last to pick. So- I picked the home side seats they have at the 50 about 10 rows up. They had 2 seats on the visitor side too that the last winner picked.

anyway- brought my GF at the time and sitting right in front of MArty Lyons family. He was getting an award that day. Next to me was Ken O'Brien's cousin from Cali. And in front of us about 10 blondes yelling down at Mark G about how much fun they had last night. lol
Player go to locker room after warmups but I see a crowd at the rail and a mop of long black hair on the field at the rail. Figured it is Mark G signing autographs. Get over there and it is Ediie Freaking Van Halen! My all time favorite. Within a couple of minutes- team came back out and it is just me and Ediie talking. This was right after DLR left the bad and there were rumors of Sammy Hagar- He confirmed it to me and told me that Sammy kicks *** and I would forget about DLR...lol
One of my favorite encounters.

I hung out with the entire Montreal Canadien hockey team in the early 70's. as my cousin played for them during that time. I went to the locker room, their xmas parties, playing hockey against some of the best players in the world. I went to dinner on numerous occasions with Ken Dryden, Guy Lafleur, Larry Robinson, Guy Lambert, and Henri Richard. I sat with the wives during games as my cousin left a ticket to every game for 3 or 4 years while I was going to McGill University in the city at that time.

In FAO Schwartz in circa 1980 looking at something on counter. Didn't realize was standing next to Robin Williams (then of Mork and Mindy fame). I looked up and he looked at me and said his "Nanu, Nanu" thing with fingers. Pretty cool.

PS always had a big crush on Mindy!
Come on I bet you had a big crush on Robin as well ...Nanu , Nanu👌

When I was about 8 or 9 in probably 1998ish I was at a Rangers/Flyers game in Philly. My dad got tickets from work in a luxury suite, so after the game we're waiting outside the elevator to go back downstairs and my dad recognizes Bernie Parent near us. I of course had no idea who he was, but we took a picture with him and he signed our tickets. While we're distracted by this guy I never heard of before, I see Wayne Gretzky walk off the elevator and go down the hall. Wayne was like a superhero to me at the time, and I was hoping we'd go talk to him instead. As a young kid, I wasn't going to be the one to point him out, my parents didn't notice him, and for whatever reason nobody else in the elevator waiting area seemed to react at all either, so I wondered if it was just some other guy that looked like him. We get outside, Parent still with us, and as he's pointing out some of the players walking out of the arena towards the bus on a floor below us, and casually mentions that Gretzky walked past us before we got on the elevator. Woops.

Fast forward 18 years later, another embarrassing elevator at a sporting event story--I'm entering the stadium for the 2016 Rutgers and Illinois game at the South Entrance. I brought my handicapped uncle with me, so they let us take the elevator up. Someone else points at my Brian Leonard jersey and says, "Nice jersey." I respond with "Yeah, I like these old ones." After a few seconds of awkward silence, an older lady says, "#23....that's him." I look up again and realize it was Brian Leonard himself and probably his mom giving me the hint. I chalked it up to too many beers during the tailgate, but it was still probably the stupidest I've ever felt.

Worked in a number of game stands on the Seaside Heights boardwalk (Casino Pier) in the summer of 85. One hot day I'm working the stand we called "Fish", a game where a small U shaped magnet hung on the end of a small fishing pole and you had to try and "catch" this small red disc among tens of big yellow discs.... really difficult game to win... patience was key. So I'm attending to all the people playing and this guy comes up to me and asks to play and how to play. I do a double take; it's Doug Flutie. I tell him how to play and just stand back and watch him and others try to play. The whole time I looking at dad's with their kids walking past Flutie without even recognizing him - even the people playing next to him have no clue! About 15 - 20 mins later I look and see Flutie "catch" the red disc on his magnet. Winna!
So, as many know, when someone wins the attendant (me) is supposed to yell out Winna! Winna! But it's Doug Flutie, and surely once I bring attention to this guy, people will start hounding him once recognized. So I just casually go up to him and just say, "pick whatever you want". He tells me, I give it to him, and say nothing more. He thanked me for not yelling it out.
After that moment I started thinking, that was Doug Flutie, Heisman winner, new QB for the NJ Generals getting paid good quid, good looking wife next to him, and he wins one of the hardest games on the SH Boardwalk! C'mon man! Lol!

Dang- keep remembering some good ones...back in the 80-90's, my buddie had a cabin just up from Phoenicia in NY. Used to go up there each TG for a weekend of hunting and drinking. And when kids were born in the 90's we would do a camping trip with them.

Cabin next to his was purchased by Phil Esposito's daughter and her husband. Had a small son. She was a very cute little blonde and often up there with just her son as her Hubby is working in the city. Phil came up a couple of times and had a quick hello with him but he was never there long.
Makes the story interesting is that one year we go up and here that the previous week- her husband shot her and then killed himself in that cabin right next to us. We knew him pretty good too...(she and her son lived and he died.)

I was following his career and it was right before he fought Couture and won prob 05. Really nice guy and I knew he could kill me if he wanted to but I was surprised at how big he wasnt.

MURF87 sparked my memory - I also met Flutie - at the International Bowl In Toronto. He was a very nice guy and chatted with a few of us for above 15 minutes. Told us when he was younger he could dunk - and we all know he’s not a tall man, but now he could only touch the rim.

In my sports days, there were a few guys I interviewed: Bernard King, Dave Cowens, John Sterling, Larry Bird, Dr J, Bobby Jones, Darryl Dawkins, Dominique Wilkins, Doc Rivers, Mike Fratello, Bobby Cremins, Mark Price, John Salley, Vern Fleming and Hugh Durham. Maybe some more I can't recall.
Ran into Don Rickles in the lobby at Caesar's before Leonard-Hearns III. Also, that night, playing blackjack at the next table were Joe Theismann and Cathy Lee Crosby.
Had a nice chat a couple of years ago with Brian Jordan (former Falcon and Braves/Cardinals) about the Falcons choke job against the Pats. First words out of his mouth: "G-d damn offensive coordinator"

Probably the first athlete I met, was Cookie Rojas. He was working at, I think, Lucas Ford, in Burlington in the offseason.

I've seen a bunch of NHL guys while working at an ice rink. Grant Marshall, Colin White, Brian Propp, Pete DeBoer, Jamie Langenbrunner, Ron Duguay, Ed Hospodar, Bryce Salvador, Brian Mullen, Stephane Matteau. Matteau would show up to run clinics once or twice a year. The best was the time he got to the rink and didn't bring a stick. We had to look all over the place for the longest left-handed stick we could find. Most of the guys were down to Earth. Mullen was one of the coaches for our travel team and just complained about everything and was often a no-show at practices and games.

When Craig Anderson took time off mid-season because his wife was battling cancer, she was being treated at a place around the corner from us for probably a week, so he rented one of our mini rinks a few times while he was here, and the Senators flew a coach out to take shots on him. Most of his rentals were weekday mornings when we had nothing else going on, but he had one that was at night at the same time as a bunch of youth practices. We tried to keep it on the down low and keep the kids from bothering him, but eventually word got out and they all started knocking on the door to his locker room. He was great though, he didn't seem annoyed and signed autographs for everybody. I was really pulling for him the rest of that year, it was great to see him return to play and receive a standing ovation from the opposing Edmonton crowd after shutting them out in his first game back, and then his wife's eventual recovery at the end of the season.

Some friends and I were hanging out back in November at Sandy Hook and we bump into the Boss just chilling at the beach so we pull out our phones to get some pics with him. He obliges and we also get a couple autographs and then he says he has to get going. As he gets ready to pull away a cop pulls up. But it's all good as Bruce recognizes the cop and calls out to him, "What's up @BigWill !" as the officer walks up and the two of them do a bro hug like old buddies. Next thing we know a flask gets pulled out and they both take a swig. BigWill assures Bruce he'll be fine....no way you'll blow higher than a .02, no worries if you get pulled over. Bruce sighs in relief as he tells the cop he's on his way to film a Jeep commercial.

Housewives of New Jersey Melissa Gorga and Amber. I got to shoot a scene with them which aired about 7 years ago. Melissa was hot. Took out on a date Vida Guerra who was on the cover of Playboy and did a spread and has been in some movies like CHIPS.

Oh, and my least favorite Harvey Weinstein. However, his companion Alexandra Vino was hot and extremely nice. Look her up.

A few years ago I was in the Sunrise, in East Millstone, having lunch at a small counter they had. I got into a conversation with the guy next to me. We were discussing gun laws Nj vrs Pa, his farm , railroads, different subjects etc., for awhile, when I asked him, did he do anything else besides farming. At this time, he said he sold cars, and then I was able to figured it out, that it was Brad Benson, who I had just purchased a car from his dealership a few weeks prior

I once caddied for Russ Christopher( baseball pitcher for Phil. A's),at Weequahic Park Golf Course,in Newark.Back in '42.He was very tall. I was 5'8" and skinny as a rail. The Golf bags probably weighed as much as I did. I just checked stats and he was 6' 3" 180. I recall that he had big hands and towered over me.Probably had a series going with the Yankees. One of the other caddies Harry,an OLD MAN,caddied for Judy Holliday one time. I wasn't there. Just heard about all the talk.

My old roommate worked at a restaurant Harvey Weinstein lived upstairs from. Hes got plenty of stories about this guy so I wasnt surprised at all when he went down. Just a bad person all around

I also once ran into this super model in the city once and asked her out. She politely declined but I was proud of myself for asking.

He is a scumbag. One week before the trial he had the walker with him but I didn't see him using it.

Obviously I’ve had the opportunity to meet and talk with 1000s of celebrities, and not just in passing.
Because I grew up thinking playing catch with Tom Seaver and Mickey Mantle was normal, I have never been easily star-struck.
Some stand out however.
Katherine Johnson
Katherine Johnson as in the NASA mathematician who they made the movie Hidden Figures about? Great, great movie.
