I'll admit that I didn't watch the game tip off to buzzer (I'm at work). But I did see a lot more Minnesota bodies hitting the floor for loose balls. Was I just watching at the wrong times or is this an issue?

This might sound wacky, but the 9 pm start time has not been kind to us. For some reason we look like we are stuck in mud, sluggish to rebounds , defense is slow ,offense a little out of sync. The first MSU game was at 9 and we were lethargic the whole night. The first Syracuse game , we were out of sync, defense was slow and allowed them to take the lead with 5 minutes to go and were able to make a game closing surge for the W. Last night , we also seemed off except for Myles. Then late Caleb and Geo woke up offensively and we locked down on defense the last 2 plus minutes. Our ball movement , defense and rebounding and passing seem better when we play at an earlier time. Just my quirky observation.

I don't know about the team, but the 9:00 starts leave me feeling sluggish, lethargic and out of sync.

I'll tell ya one thing I didn't like. Luke Nathan screaming during Minny's FTs. I know other people are not with me on this, but it feels super amateur & bush league to me. Fans in a packed arena, fine. But the opponent's bench screaming didn't even happen when I was playing bball at 13.

Agree. Just prefer positive encouragement of your teammates not that stuff. Don’t know if this is going on everywhere or a lot of places or not. Even if it is, not a fan of it. Also could backfire and fire up the other team.

Minnesota’s bench was doing it also, though that could have just been in response to hearing what our bench was doing. Personally I don’t think it’s a big deal, I also don’t think it’s any different from the bench yelling at an opposing player when he’s taking say, a 3 in the corner right in front of the bench, which a lot of teams do.

Having said that, I also don’t really see the point of it. These guys are normally attempting free throws with literally thousands of people screaming at them, I don’t know that a handful of guys yelling from the bench is really all that disruptive. But the energy coming from the bench is important throughout the game, and if screaming during free throws is what they need to do to stay engaged, then scream away.

Maybe it’s a New Jersey thing ... didn’t the Monmouth bench get a lot of notoriety with their sideline antics within the last few years?

I’m with you on this. Not a good look.

There is no doubt that Pikiell wants the bench in to the game. Trying to find energy anyway possible. There is a fine line. It crossed my personal line.

Maybe they can wear tennis whites and have ushers shush them 🙄

I always thought if a golfer could sink a putt or a tennis player can serve an ace with a screaming student section behind them then they’re legit! Now shush Minny is shooting FTs.

Wouldn’t be a T if a player on the floor does it?
At one point, one of the refs said something which looked like a warning to Luke after a pair of Minnesota foul shots. He seemed incredulous and almost mocking in his response back. That said, Luke did seem more subdued in his cat calls after that.
