Seth Greenberg has Been very high on us all year. He thinks we have gone through that gauntlet and losing streak and gotten back and says watch out and what you said about a deep run. Matchups and a little luck determine how deep a run a team makes. Like the way our defense , rebounding and intensity out of the gate has returned and our defensive efficiency on Kenpom climbed over 20 spots to 10 th in the country now. If we bring back our defensive intensity from last year back now , we really do a chance for a deep run. Now extend the winning streak on Thursday to keep this thing going

Location of tournament this year, in addition to strength of conference, is very favorable to have many Big Ten teams in Sweet Sixteen..maybe even 2 in Final Four

It’s not a must win. But if we lose certainly feel like we have to steal one from Iowa or Michigan to make up for it
Get your point but considering our team’s mental state I do think it is a must win for these reasons. To keep our winning * streak and good vibes going so that we go into Iowa on a 4 game winning streak with nothing to lose. A loss against Minnesota puts added pressure on the guys going into Iowa and maybe they play a little tight. Iowa will not be able to guard us so I would rather we go in with as much confidence as possible so we score as much as possible and our defense will win out. This team ‘s season has been a battle of our mental state and confidence more so our athletic ability .

None of the remaining games are must wins (maybe just Nebraska).

but we have to win enough of them to stay on the right side of the bubble. .500 or better

So being that Minnesota is about on par with RU that makes it a game that we definitely want to have as many of us would love to avoid losing years off our lives due to the stress of being o. The bubble come selection Sunday

Not really. I believe four wins and we are a lock. Three wins and we are at least 50-50 to get in. Northwestern, Indiana, Maryland at home and at Nebraska gets us our four wins.

I know we aren’t the players and what we say means nothing.
But I’m amazed we’re contemplating a loss to Minnesota and going out of our way to discuss where we get four wins from because of it

I think it’s great we’re back to that hungry team that is hanging around the Top 25 and people are talking about us and saying watch out for RU. I think this team will thrive on that.

I also thought it was interesting he said 10 BIG teams in the tourney. That seems high even though out #10 would probably be a 1-7 in every other conference. By that I mean they could easily win an auto bid in the smaller conference and probably would be high enough to get an at large bid elsewhere. Certainly they would have more wins and be on the bubble elsewhere.

Something short but poignant for all us Rutgers crazies. Every game is a must game not because a loss derails Rutgers but you want the momentum to continue into a possible tournament spot. The seeding will be interesting and B1G against B1G early on is possible with 8-10 conference teams.

Bottom line with 8 games remaining and a current league record of 6-6 each remaining game is very important to impress the NCAA Committee.Losing at home to Minnesota and then to Iowa on the road would put Rutgers in a dangerous position because other B1G teams could move up and pass them in the league ranking. With Rutgers inconsistent offense every remaining game except for Nebraska should be considered a grind out battle with the margin victory possibly decided at the foul line,Defeating Minnesota is very important.

Winning is a mindset but so is losing. Some fans haven't made the leap with Pike to which winning isn't a dream but a reality.

Let’s make the tourney first then see. Maybe it’s my PTSD as the longest suffering Rutgers fan. I have been a fan since I stepped on campus in fall 1991, just a few months after our last appearance. Anyone who was a fan before that at least got to enjoy their last NCAA trip

We can beat Iowa even at their place; Cliff didn't play in the first game and we shot 9-23 from the FT line and still only lost by 2 and watching them last night against MSU they are good but not great

I agree with the PTSD we have that in every sport at Rutgers as I have been a fan since 1974 so we know what suffering is and throw in a NY Jets Knicks and Rangers fan so suffering is all I am used to

One game at a time ...but we don’t have to be shell shocked because we lost five in a row or accept that we are barely going to make the tournament ...especially with a win against minny making it four confrence wins in a row ...something we never didn’t in the big ten ....

one game a time ...enjoy the ride.

That's the thing- win and it opens the door for so many possibilities. Lose and margin for error is thin.

Honestly, I still have PTSD from that losing streak. I am trying to get rid of it, but I couldn't believe how bad we looked overnight. It was inexplicable.

Because off the losing streak, Minnesota is a must win. We cannot afford to lose to a team that we are ahead of in all the rankings, at home.

Again, this is not a must win. Probably only at Nebraska is a must win. Lets say we lose tonight, but then beat Northwestern, Indian and Maryland at home. We also win at Nebraska and Minnesota. That puts us at 11-9, a loss tomorrow won't matter at all.

A loss tomorrow translates into must wins later.
let’s win tomorrow so Nebraska isn’t a must win.😀😀

It really was inexplicable. It's like the team flew into a black hole on the way to MSU and didn't get out of it until the flight to Indiana. Like that NBC show, "Manifest."

People like to criticize Pike's coaching ability, but if we end up this year at 14-10 (10-10) or 15-9 (11-9), he will deserve a TON of credit for turning things around when the team was seemingly in a death spiral.

Yeah, just need to avoid the 8/9 game, so we don't have to play the #1 seed in the second round. MUST get a 7th seed or higher, but I think we will need to end up at 16-8 (12-8) to get there. Not sure 15-9 (11-9) gets us a 7th seed, but I could be wrong especially since we will have gone 8-3 in the last 11 games.

RU is very erratic to be one of the sweet 16 team.
I need to see a lot more before I change my view.
It starts this Thursday and we have to beat Michigan and Iowa.

I'd sign up for an 8-9 game right now. It means we're in the tournament. Something we haven't done in 31 years
