Wrestling MATCH THREAD: Rutgers 🤼‍♂️ vs. Ohio State

[belushijo]

Have you forgotten? "rated the No. 4 high school recruit at 120 pounds by Intermat "

Right. But you said he is just like Aguilar. Just interested to see what your reasoning is on why that is the case given the limited action we’ve seen.

[PessimisticallyHopefulPragmatist]

Can we move on from Grello at this point?

I had hoped to see Turley this year but...

[Lex Knapp]

Just to chime in on this Aguilar debate: next on the schedule is a tri-meet with Purdue and Minnesota. If I am Goodale, I am splitting those matches between Aguilar and Shawver. Just my opinion.

[Lex Knapp]

Third period starting with Romero on bottom, leading 8-3.

Romero reverses Grello shortly after the period begins to go up 10-3. Romero then cuts Grello, making it 10-4

[Bobbynieds]

Romero abusing grello....Wow

I’d be fine with that. I’d also like to know how Shawver does against Aguilar in the room.

Read it again.

Grello is another one.. absolutely no development and progress. Yes, I know he is wrestling a top guy but he literally looks helpless and has no shot to do anything but get majored once again. Zero fight or desire.

We need to look elsewhere as well.

I had hoped to see Turley this year but...

Grello wrestles like he doesn’t even give a ****. I’d go with the young blood good or bad.

[Lex Knapp]

Romero in again on a takedown, and has riding time locked up. Score is 12-4 Romero, with a RT point coming. Grello needs to get a few points on the board to avoid giving up the major

Hasn’t taken one offensive shot.

[belushijo]

Read it again.

So basically it’s based off their high school pedigree?

[RUCrackers]

Romero abusing grello....Wow

That's why I refuse to get a BTN subscription. Grello is a hell of a nice kid, but his intensity and passion for the sport is long gone.

[Lex Knapp]

Romero dominates Grello, winning 15-5 with the RT point. Could be a cruical bonus point down the stretch.

Ohio State now leads Rutgers 13 - 11

Curious as to how Turley hasn’t gotten more of a look. He’s been decent in limited action and had a good high school career.

[koleszar]

I don't know how many more of these Grello matches I have in me. Already my mind is wandering. It feels like the longest 7mins. of my life.

[Lex Knapp]

Big match here at 184-lbs between John Poznanski and Rocky Jordan

[Lex Knapp]

Poz gives up an early takedown, giving Jordan a 2-0 lead

[PessimisticallyHopefulPragmatist]

So basically it’s based off their high school pedigree?

Sigh

[belushijo]

Sigh

You seem fun

[MS-RU]

Grello and Aguilar look like guys simply going through the motions at this point. Exhibits A and B in regards to what SeaBass meant when he said guys need a kick in the *** and a wake up call.

[Lex Knapp]

Poz has to work hard to earn an escape. He finally breaks free from Jordan, making the score 2-1

[Lex Knapp]

Poz with a takedown to take the lead, but Jordan ties it up with an escape.

[koleszar]

OOOhhh that was nice Poz.

[Lex Knapp]

Period ends on the feet, with the score staying tied at three a piece.

Jordan starting the second period on bottom

[MS-RU]

Love Poz's style and attitude

[Lex Knapp]

Jordan escapes, making it 4-3, in favor of Jordan

[PessimisticallyHopefulPragmatist]

Love Poz's style and attitude

Yes.

[MS-RU]

What defense and reattack

[Lex Knapp]

Poz with an unbelievable score off of a Jordan single leg attempt. Oh my goodness. Poz up 5-4

[koleszar]

Oh this kid is good.

[Lex Knapp]

What the heck was that stoppage

[SCNJ]

Poz is unbelievable. How the hell did he pull off that single leg escape? That one is even more impressive than the one vs Michigan

[koleszar]

What the **** is that stoppage. Complete bullsh*t.

[Lex Knapp]

Poz keeps Jordan down to hold on to his one point lead.

Poz starting the third period on bottom, leading 5-4

[Lex Knapp]

Poz gets an escape, giving him a two-point lead early on in the third period

[Lex Knapp]

Poz could really ice the match with a takedown here

[Lex Knapp]

Jordan ties up the match on a single leg. He cuts Poz, however, giving Poz a 7-6 lead. Poz then gets a go-behind takedown on a Jordan takedown attempt, 9-6 Poz

[Clearscreen5]

Poz will be moving up the rankings!!

[belushijo]

Poz looking good.
