Happy they won last night to get their first B1G win out of the way. Going to be a huge challenge for us to win even in an empty Breslin.

We never have defeated Michigan State as a member of B1G 10. Let’s continue to knock down walls! Heckuva challenge but we have always played them tough even when we were not good. What’s worrisome is they started a freshman PG last night who seems good and seems to have straightened their team.

Yes he looked really good last night against Nebraska.

Hopefully the empty arena willl help us on the road like the empty RAC is helping the opposing teams this year that place would have been in the words of Chris Carlin "Pandemonium in Piscataway" yesterday!!

This is not a typical Izzo team, no help defense so far this season, Nebraska was getting to the rim, off the dribble, all game & they are not the rebounding team that they have been in the past. Seem like a talented team with the parts not meshing yet.

I watched the game and yes , their defense was not impressive , lots of gaps to drive and no shot blockers . On offense they seem to have a lot of slashers but no one you can throw it into in the post . I bet they try to spread us out to take Myles away from the basket to allow more driving . Also we need to get back in transition as even on makes they push and get it out quickly .

If theres ever a time to beat them it's now. At this particular point in time I think we are better than them. We need to take advantage of that.

Also watched last nights's game. What concerned me is Michigan State developing confidence, especially Aaron Henry with his shooting, solely due to playing a really bad Nebraska team, a team where the sum of the parts is less than some of the individual components and a team with very little post presence. Kithier/Hauser/Hall cleaned up on the glass and Henry got good looks, knocking down his jump shots.

I don't usually believe this, however, this is one case that I would have preferred Michigan State to have played a good team and lose their 4th straight with Henry continuing to struggle with his shot, instead of gaining confidence by playing a bad team.

That being said, I also strongly believe Rutgers is a better team than Michigan State with more scoring options, better in the post with Myles and a perimeter defense that needs to blanket Henry. Not a believer that the history of the series has anything whatsoever to do with the outcome of Tuesday's game. It's 2 completely different teams.

MSU has been unimpressive. Wish we played them already and hope this game is before they "figure it out"

Am I wrong in thinking that if we want to have any chance in winning the B1G regular season, then this is pretty close to being a must win game? I know there’s many more games to play, but I’m not thinking what we need just to get in the tournament, I’m thinking bigger picture.

I’ve seen almost every Michigan State game this year and we are definitely better than them. Also, the absence of Cliff is less important than it was against Iowa....especially if Reiber can give us a similar effort. I’m sure it will be close but we should win this game.

One interesting note from the Iowa game ... for the first time all season, the Hawkeyes had more turnovers (a season-high 15) than assists (13).

They were unimpressive vs a bad Nebby team. I would be disappointed with a loss

Teddy Allen was also chucking up stupid shots that some how went in.

There was a lot of that going on in that game, Aaron Henry shot finally went it, but the defense on him was terrible. Nebraska is the only bad team in the BIG10.

RU is a better team than MSU this year, let's hope we get the win and cross them off the list of teams we haven't beaten.

I’d agree with that. As long as Allen and McGowins aren’t unconscious (figuratively) I don’t know how we could lose that game.

I am definitely caught up with the name on the jersey. Watching MSU I keep wanting to give them the benefit of the doubt and say they will be a better team as the season progresses. I agree they look pretty bad right now to the eye.

RU 17
MI 6
MSU 119

Yea I don't get it either. Michigan looks like the best team in the league to me. We will have our hands full with that team. To me, they are going to pose the most physically challenging game in conference. They have a ton of length and size. Match ups will be very interesting to say the least.

Lots of respect for MSU and Izzo and all that. That being said, hope the guys come out with a mentality to bury the Spartans on their home court. Take all doubt which team is better and take the game out of the hands of any whistle.

Let’s ball!

Those are two separate items for me. Right now they do not look good at alllll. If you think they are good now that is the name on the front of the jersey.

Will they be good later in the season? That is more about Izzo ans his track record of having his teams play better at the end of the year so there is logic behind it.

Let's whoop them now while they aren't playing well. Statement bounce back win coming

Dickinson is going to be a handful for Myles. Kid is smart and tough. Knows how to play the game.

To me they are the team to beat in the league. We match up much better than we have in that past and we create problems for them on defense which wasn't the case in the past. We can beat them, but we will have to bring our A game.
