Harper may be the best player and Geo is the team leader, but this team's heart is Jacob Young. Clearly hurting, he played hard, stayed in control and hit some key free throws at the end. Total beast mode.
Totally agree - the kid has guts and has improved so much under the nations best coach! Hope he gets to 100% asap.

He could really use some rest before Iowa and lets hope that Cliff and Ron are also back Saturday

The guess here is that JY will be very sore later tonight and tomorrow, but will suit up and Play Saturday.
His desire will just have him keep playing
Despite the pain

He was terrific tonight. You can tell he's not 100%, but he toughed it out and we really needed him tonight. And btw, he was money at the FT line.

Said much the same in the game thread - kid's a warrior, but you could tell he was hurting and avoiding going inside much. When he's on he is our MVP IMO, as he does more to make other players better than anyone else on the team, on both offense and defense.

Jacob has shown he can play and be in control of his game.
When he first arrived felt he could play, but wondered about his playing out of control too often .
That's not a worry now and as far as transfers go, Young has proven a great one.

I give him so much credit for not only playing through the pain, but playing really well. The guy drew fouls at the end and knocked down the FTs, like a senior should. He should sleep well tonight.

I think most underestimated is how incredibly difficult it is to be locked in on his free throws the way he was with pain from game long contact, fatigue and no doubt a tightening of the bruised area with adrenaline running out.

He is Rutgers' best player.
He showed me that he is gutsy.
He was playing on fumes.
Hope he can play against Iowa.

Unsung hero of tonight's game. He played a lot of minutes....performed excellently and played within himself ensuring a lot of discomfort and pain I'm sure.

I hope he had some x-rays after that fall against Ohio State. He might have a cracked rib or something

I think the best way I could put it is that this kid is fearless.
And as a complete compliment, if I am a fan of another team playing us, he would be the guy I can’t stand...

So much guts grit and passion. Love it. The intangibles to go with the skill. Incredible performance by him tonight.

Terrific performance. Hope he came out of it OK. Still prone to some head scratching moments but the good now far outweigh the bad decisions.

I knew from the beginning that he was going to be great here..it was no fluke that he comes in and scores 28 against a future national runner up Texas Tech when he played for Texas..

Jacob's dad Michael, whom as most know was a member of Houston's "Phi Slamma Jamma," was known as "The Silent Assassin." The apple doesn't fall far from the tree my friends!
