Steve deserves all the accolades in the world, but many should be thrown to the assistants as well. This staff and that includes the time with Jay Young, is historic at Rutgers. There are a myriad of reasons why Rutgers has not sniffed success over time, but the lack of a quality staff, which includes assistants is right up top. Special credit should go to Steve Hayn on the recruiting trail.Kudos.

The key will be as Knight and Hobbs get HC offers, we either need to pony up or make sure we get quality replacements.

I think the majority of us understand this '72. Pike has an excellent team of coaches around him who not only help him gameplan but develop these kids.

I think Pat Hobbs deserves some credit not just for hiring Pike when many were hoping for a bigger name, but also for providing an assistant coaching budget that allowed Pike to after a guy like Brandin Knight when he became available even after already hiring Jay Young and Karl Hobbs. I think it definitely played a role in putting Pike in a better position to succeed.

I could see Hobbs being here for the long haul. Knight should and probably will get a shot very soon.

There will be a big name that goes after Pike I am sure, being in the best conference in the land, the media market and the type of low key guy he is, I would not be too worried.
As others have said. Backup the money truck. And being a highly ranked team each year will make Rutgers a preferred job so why leave!

Our greatest time in the past coincided with a great Rutgers field general, John McFadden as an assistant coach. when he went to Xerox, things were not quite the same. Until now.
