We will be the favorite. Painter has to put in a game plan to pull off the upset. Different mindset for him facing us.

heavy dose of Trevion and the freshman center.

I am terrified of
1. Myles playing less aggressive trying to stay out of foul trouble
2. Myles being in foul trouble

I am worried about JacobYoung not being 100%

margin of error with rotating 5 guys in 4 spots Is small.

Trying to figure out how we're going to guard Trevion Williams and Zach Edey with a neutered Myles Johnson and an ineffective Doucoure. Purdue is going to pound the ball inside relentlessly to get Myles in foul trouble. We will need to double Trevion in order to make things easier on Myles. Trevion can pass back out, and Purdue ALWAYS shoots well against us. Without Cliff, I am afeard of a repeat of OSU.

But this team is smart and tough, and they will figure out how to overcome all of it, dammit.

Rutgers 79
Purdue 72

In front of 563 cardboard cutouts at the RAC.

We will have to put relentless pressure in the ball to stop them from getting it in easily . Also expect to see some choking down from our guards .

I'm channeling my inner FIG and am concerned tonight as well with Purdue having even bigger bigs and much better 3 point shooters.

If Myles can play big minutes, we win. If he plays under 20 we may lose, but I think refs give him the benefit of the doubt tonight.

Purdue can't stop our guard penetration, and they have shot poor from 3 on the road. If those trends continue its a W.

Im not happy about us leaning towards being a bubble team being right but anyone who didnt see the loss of yeboah and caleb being huge with the immense lack of depth was really just praying and imagining wed be healthy all year.

I wonder how much slack the committee will give us when a lot of our losses will be without our full compliment of players . With everyone we are final 4 good . Hopefully they realize that

True , that’s why I think they will use the eye test more rather than a lot of the metrics and overall record
Eye test will help us

Yeboah not so much. Harper and the gang replaced his production. The Caleb injury hurt depth a lot. I didn’t like Pike not using the last scholarship to land a transfer. He obviously didn’t know Caleb was going to redshirt, but he was really banking on better minutes from Oscar and Mag, which I don’t agree with. Not hating on Pike here, just didn’t like not using the scholarship. I’m also a little frustrated with the 2021 recruiting lately. . Jones is solid. Don’t know much about Miller. But we will lose Baker and Young at the end of the year. Maybe even Harper. Pike has to hit the recruiting trail very hard

Injuries are always considered especially with multiple missed games

Disagree. Imo were not in the tourney last year without yeboah. People forget the huge plays and shots he made. We lose nebraska and NW without him. Losing those two likely wouldve knocked us out of the tourney

Okay, but that’s last year not this year. Of course we miss the tourney last year without him. You weren’t talking last year. We would be fine scoring and depth wise this year without him. Guys like Harper and Young have more than made up for Yeboah. The Caleb injury really hurt our depth though.

Going to be another one of these games with no fouls against the opponent isn’t it?
