Obviously should have been a Rutgers win, but in the category of good losses would be that game. They are very athletic and very deep. If Towns keeps getting healthy they are a difficult out for anyone. Holtmann is a top 3 BIG coach. With that said, little doubt in my mind that Rutgers wins at home.

From a SHU perspective, 1. Your Team is good; 2. You were screwed by the Refs but that is fairly common to most Teams (except Nova); 3. Injuries impacted the game but so did our game against you last year.

if you stay healthy, you will be dangerous in the NCAA’s. Good luck!

Thank you. However I recall rutgers kicking *** before Powell went out. Yes, it certainly helped keep the microwave from going off.

Powell was concussed at the 4 minute mark. We were running plays for him until he asked Willard: “Hey Coach, why are we practicing at the RAC?”

It is hard to win on the road in Big Ten. We have to play .500 ball on the road to do well in the tournament.
Any road win is a good win. So we are .500 right now.

Again don't forget 14-6 was first place in the Big last year and with the talent from top to bottom I think it may not be much different this year thats why the loss at OSU and how the refs played an integral part really bothers many of us here because we are going to lose a few games where we just don't play well and will lose

The route was on from the opening tip. SHU was never in the game at any point.

Rutgers was up big against OSU. Completely different scenarios

You’re either rewriting history or saying your coach ignored a concussion for 16 minutes of game time. My memory is that the injury occurred much later.

Powell was hit early, and continued playing, but his shot was off. Word is that he had suffered a concussion, but was not put through the protocol right away as he was showing no symptoms of a head injury immediately after. When he asked why they were practicing at Rutgers, the coaches pulled him and put him into the protocol.

A handful of idiots on this board felt he was playing possum because his shot wasn't falling, and made up the whole thing. In reality, he took a hard shot - and then a bit later got jostled hard a couple of more times, which would have only exacerbated a concussion.

He wasn't playing particularly well before that hit, either, and we jumped out to a huge lead before the hit happened.

Well said. Thank you. Here's a video of Powell getting concussed:

I'm a big kyk fan and he's right about a lotttt of takes, but the fake concussion conspiracy might be his worst. Powell missed a couple games after that I believe too. All in an attempt to sell the con job apparently? He still believes it was made up til this day I think lol

They beat us by double digits. Can’t take 35 minutes and say one team is better than the other, especially ignoring 5 minutes.

Yes we would have won if Myles didn’t get phantom fouls, but it happened and we got destroyed for 5 minutes.
at least you recognize the reason we got destroyed for 5 minutes... ridiculous circumstances.. those refs are criminals

No. We got destroyed because the 5 players on the court didn’t execute. The 5 players got out scored by more than 20+ in a short time horizon. The refs were bad, but they aren’t criminals and we lost the game. Horrible calls, but we lost the game because we didn’t get the job done. End of story.

Ohio State isn't a good team (they should be 0-3), and that's going to be a bad loss for us.

That's another thing that really burns me up about that game.
OSU certainly is not a bad team. They are very skilled at a lot of positions. We may be better 1-5, but they get us 6-10.

Correct, we didn't get the job done.

We weren't able to adapt to a game where our opponent was allowed to initiate contact in the paint while on defense largely with impunity, while we weren't allowed that same luxury.

At points it was like playing football on a hill, and faulting the team coming up the slope for struggling to move the ball as effectively.

At this point, Purdue is next up - can't dwell, and need to move forward. Johnson's never going to get the whistle Garza does, and Pike needs to do a better job protecting him from that.
