Tim’s been at IMG a while and doing quite well. He has no love lost for RU for what went down. Good man and very smart with networks and programming. And there would not have been a media scandal if it wasn't for Jay Bilas, who was righteous about RU but seemed to turn a blind eye when Roy Williams' academics or Bill Self's cheating was exposed. Cater to the blue bloods and a fraud.

He was the head of a major scandal and was inept as an AD judging by his two big hires. Even if he’s a great announcer, it would make no sense .
Well he is with regard to color and analysis, so for that part it would make sense. And he wouldn't be AD...just another voice on WOR and WCTC.

Former player, friendly with the current coach and has worked already with the other guys in the booth.

Chris Carton is back on the air. If he can go home...
Carton wasn’t fired from wfan for his actions at wfan. Pernetti left rutgers because of his failure at rutgers.
Carton is back to get ratings . Pernetti wouldn’t be doing that for rutgers football .

And neither was Tim fired from the booth.

If someone wants it to happen, it could happen.

@Caliknight explained it pretty well...whoever was in charge at the time probably would have suffered a similar fate.

If it wasnt Rice it would have been some other loser. That's the level of pool we were swimming in.
No that is the pool your are swimming in. The loser pool
No need to make it personal. He's talking about the financial pool, ya know, the idiots who refused to pay more than a million to replace Schiano, who had been making around $2.3 million when he left. Seriously, less than a million for a BCS coach? That's tantamount to failure.

Hopefully with Coach Schiano back and Barchi gone, the bridge can be rebuilt at some point. We need to have as many former players supporting the program as possible and from what people have told me, he absolutely bleeds Scarlet.

I tend to think that the failure was Rutgers being 30 years in D1A/FBS and its alumni being such fourth-rate donors to both its athletics infrastructure and its endowment.

In the 80s & 90s, almost _none_ of the generation that should've been that era's most reliable benefactors wanted to see Rutgers in the "big time," and our fundraising bears out that reality. It would be another two decades before we'd have a matured cohort of Big Ten-caliber philanthropists who saw Rutgers as something other than an Ivy/Middle Three-type athletic department.

Can't spend money you have no hopes of raising.

Actually the scandal doesn’t matter much. Hiring and then deducing to rerun kyle flood is pernetti claim to fame ...or infamy . Rice and flood ! Awful by any metric

Again, pernetti made two awful hires . He also kept the two guys. Awful AD . Game, set , match
I never understood the rah rah pernetti crap on this board . Guy was awful. Julie gets more crap and she didn’t get to make any bad hires in football and men’s hoops .

IDK, I think Rice and Flood both had potential as coaches, but the level of support they had was just non existent.

Mike rice 🤦‍♂️
You mean the manufactured scandal based on a half hour video made from hundreds of hours of practice time by a disaffected former contractor who was trying to extort money from the school? The one based on basketballs being thrown at players feet to get them to move and colorful language that those who have played sports would consider mild from a coach? That only became a scandal months after it had already been handled internally and only came to light because that contractor took it to the media? A scandal promoted by the Star Ledger who had an axe to grind with Tim Pernetti? The same paper that printed half-truths and outright lies to get the prior athletic directory, Bob Mulcahy, fired? A scandal that the school refused to get ahead of and let the Star Ledger and other media drive? Yeah, that was a scandal that ranked right up there with point shaving, pay for play, harboring pedophiles and molesters, running a fake class program for athletes, etc. And let's not forget the school president who refused to deal with issue when it first arose, refused to even view the video (or claimed he didn't), let general counsel dictate to Pernetti what he could do, then threw Pernetti under the bus to appease the media rabble-rousers.

I agree with you that it was bs . But it was what it was. Are you saying pernetti was a good ad ?
