Biggest concern with Maryland game this Saturday

A fresh UMD team could give a beat up RU team problems. UMD has only played 4 games and had last week off. Their players have no bumps, bruises, nagging injuries, etc. RU has played the last 7 weeks in a row with a two deep that is thin even when everyone is healthy.

The previous six games, our linemen were able to out-leverage and out-technique their opponents. The chickens came home to roost in a big way against PSU and I'm concerned that is because our starters are starting to wear down.

In my opinion the biggest concern with the Maryland game would be losing it and putting a damper on any positive momentum recruiting may have ,not that the game against Penn State didn’t already do that.

Doesn’t really matter at this point. Probably better off cancelled if they are going to thump RU.

While it didn't help, I don't think the PSU loss has killed momentum with recruiting. Schiano has shown in the other games that he can coach up and compete with teams perceived to be better. But getting thumped by UMD would be a different animal. Vedral, White, O'Neill, Dwumfour, and many others are banged up. Unfortunately, the table is set for this to be a tough one unless our starters get healthy quickly.

Coming from the other side, I think it will be a tight game vs. a tough Schiano team...

Also, there is a lot of talk in College Park that the league will change the schedule and have Maryland play Ohio State instead of Rutgers, since Michigan may be unavailable (which would keep Ohio State below the minimum threshold for qualifying for the championship game). I don't really have any idea if these rumors have any legitimate basis...

As with every game, the biggest concern has been if it will be played. Pandemic really sucks.

It would be a bummer if Ohio State didn't make the playoffs because of the minimum requirement. That said, I don't agree with changing the schedule to help them.

Saw on Twitter from I think Thamel saying Michigan looks like a go for this week.

The biggest concern is they have better talent, starting with their QB and their 5 ⭐ WR.

That freshman WR who took it to the house against PSU (twice?), making their secondary look slow by comparison, is a concern. The QB will be an excellent player for them, can't let him get comfortable. Interesting game. Maryland is a team that we will have to beat consistently to move up in our division. Not going to be easy at this point by any stretch.

Excellent, thanks! I think it's better that the newbies don't skip a year playing each other, and the games are usually really good...

My biggest concern for this week's game is that we're playing our 8th straight conference game while Maryland has played 1 game in the past month.
