Purchased two of my Father and I - would be interested to know where they might end up, but I assume they won't be sending out any kind of notifications...

hope when you order 2 they place them next to eachother
Hope so as well. Would imagine they would be, as it was stated they are placed in the order received (ordered both at the same time), but who knows... I also assumed the student section would consist of orders from students, but I suppose that was a stretch and is obviously not happening.

That hurts! :p
You can never have a big enough pep band!

Agree! 2 issues (and this is a holdover from the Smith era):

- we skip too many rows
- we are NOT packed in tight like most bands from what I see on TV

IMHO, since the stand are pushed back so damn far from the baseline (for about 10 years now, maybe a few more), why not just put some of them on the floor directly in front of the band to save some space? Like the drums? Just a thought.

I believe it said they will be
Between this thread and Rutgers Social Media, it seems like that hasn't ended up being the case - what gives? Not sure if its just orders at separate times, or single orders of multiple cutouts that have been split up?

You're right...back in the day we were packed in tight AND on top of the court. Not sure why they need to spread out so much, especially if it means letting more students fill the void!

student demand was not as strong last year as you would have thought. The core is solid, but if you notice, the students to the left of the center section often are seated and don’t bring the same energy as middle section. Students are usually slow to catch on and I bet this year would have been different.

random thought: what if they played a game or two at the Barn during the CoVid era?

now about the band... well.. they probably spread out to take up space no one was using during the dismal past. I think if we get back to the old normal the band will use less room.. more room for students. But I really do not like all the room in front of the student section. They did without that room for decades. And without cheerleaders.. why not bring that section right near the court with the cutouts?

The student section was just as low and close as the left end-court section here.

Are those the only sections with cut outs ?
Probably right now. If there's a lot of them bought they'll have to be in the upper deck. The courtside seats from 111-116 will not be set up. Not sure about 101-106. I saw some clips and it looks like there are plexiglass walls encasing the scorer's table, separating them from the benches. And where the benches are, there are small bleachers set up to socially distance teams, coaches, etc. it looks like. Looks like crap from what I saw. Some unattractive "R" banners haphazardly draped over the folded up bleacher sections. Won't look good on TV.

Well I assume there will be *some* real people in places on the sidelines.. and with social distancing the cardboard cutouts.. even if placed between actual people.. would harm their ability to see. They could just make the cutout density higher in spots.

Early in the season those weren’t even students. Then once or twice recruits. By next year I expect a packed student section with nothing but students for almost every game.

That is a mistake. Recruiting targets will be watching. The crowd noise used and the cutouts all around should be in there.. allow the few spectators allowed to wit spaced out along the top of the 100s all around.. fill the bottom with the cutouts.. just make sure the spectators can see over them. But, clearly, you want the TV cameras to see the cutout "crowd" for TV. That is their purpose... at least I hope that was the purpose.. because making $20 a piece or whatever the profit may be should not have been the point.
