Shockingly good. I wasn't expecting Cliff to score in the post, at least not as a freshman. My expectation was just dunks essentially but if Cliff can score a bit in the post that would be huge
He doesn't need to shoot threes but if he can have Daniel Oturu type range that's a big development for us.
Well there was another Nigerian center that entered US basketball at the U of Houston with a reputation for only being a defensive player and a rebounder who could dunk. He turned out to be “pretty good” offensively. Hakeem Olajuwon had the best fade away mid range shot of any center to play the game that I’ve ever seen. Cliff looks like he’s on that path in terms of potential. He’s going to be a force in the Big 10.
Just remember, Daniel Oturu did not become Daniel Oturu his freshman year. Let’s enjoy the ride.
Let’s relax on expectations a bit. I think CO will be very good for us but maybe not top 10 all NBA good.
ha ha! Understood. Not saying he will be the next Hakeem but Cliff has the same description coming into college. Hopefully he develops his God given talent along those lines. I suspect Cliff has a huge offensive upside and more than we are led initially believe.
Agreed. Every time I watch tape of him, I find myself thinking “How has he only been doing this for about 4 years?” Can’t imagine what his game is going to look like by the time he’s finished here.
Why do you say that? I found this about him on the internet "Maxed out the vertical jump at Basketball without Borders Camp at NBA All Star Game Weekend. Meaning he touched the highest part of that big thing they use to measure vertical jump with."
