Andechs makes great beers. Pricey but worth it as you don't have to buy a case.Tonights choice:

Hofbrau Oktoberfest hit the wholesaler today. I'll have it in the store Tuesday as I'm off Monday. The beer that it served currently in Germany. Hofbrau doesn't call it a Weisn by name, simply Oktoberfest as they do not make a Marzen style anymore unlike Paulaner which makes a Marzen for export to the US. For the first time in 3 years the Philly region will be getting the 5L mini kegs. But will be limited. So get them early folks. Also for the first time in years as well available Paulaner the stein/ big can gift set of the Weisen in the Philly area as well. This will be extremely limited as of now only one pallet of 70 cases is coming to the Philly area 5 counties. I have been allocated 2 cases, 10 units. If any are not allocated and available than I can dive in again tomorrow. They are currently clearing customs in NYC.

Keg wise yes. Bottles first batch just retail. Paulaner gift packs are retail only.I’m sure Brauhaus Schmitz will get theirs lol
I would love to go one day for just one day. Opening Day in the Spaten tent to watch the tapping of the first keg. I am always welcome VIP treatment at Hofbrau tents but I hate huge drunk crowds.Paulaner and Hofbrau Munchen Gold are two of my good to German biers.
Will miss the Volkfest this year ..not sure if ever going back.
Not the Fruh. Not available in eastern PA. Did get in the 5L Hofbrau Oktoberfest! The first store in the Philly 5 counties to get it!!Did you ever get the 5L?

So the only thing Pailaner wise that will be available next week here will be the 6 pack Marzen bottles. Marzen kegs and the Wiesn stein gift set.Total Wine in our area is getting the Hofbrau Oktoberfest next week. I’d like to try the 5L version if possible.
Also looking to buy some Paulaner Weizn as well. Loved it last year. This is a great time of year for those that like authentic German beers.
I paid $26 for a 4-pak of Lupo Lab and I'm glad I did:

FANTASTIC!
The way I look at it is I would pay even more if I bought this it at a bar, plus in a bar I can't walk around in my underwear like I'm going now at home, so its a win win.Nice but these beer prices are getting crazy now.
I had “C” from them before and it was good
Do they still brew Red Dog or Red Wolf beer?

For some reason the Paulaner didn't clear customs normally time wise. Was supposed to arrive Monday in Philly so I could get it Wednesday. Nothing. Wasn't available for today's delivery either. The kegs are in so had it at Frankford Hall, a German bier garden in Philly. They are very similar but there is a difference. Each brewery uses their own yeast strain. Both are great.Just picked up some Hofbrau Oktoberfest here in FL. Haven’t seen the Paulaner Wiesn Oktoberfest yet. Would like to compare the two.
Walked into the liquor store and I saw this, a new Double IPA by Industry Arts and I grabbed it because Industrial Arts hardly makes new beer, for example at the moment on Untapped, Kane Brewing has 529 beers, this is IA's 14th beer.
And its damn good.

First time I realized that, dunno but they are a great brewery that deserves more love. One of the most consistent breweries around.Cape May is great overall
But, why are they brewed in Utica, NY?
Huh? They are brewed in Cape May and in Philly as far as I know.Cape May is great overall

Yes but it hasn't been a retail beer as far as I know. Certainly not in PA. Terrific. Another I love is the Capt May Double IPA. So good. Had it at the brewery. Did go retail last year but sold in days. You might be the man to ask, did you ever have this one:

Have any of them moved more aggressively to delivery? The breweries did that here, but it may be more challenging in a larger state.Just an update on the current reopening status of FL micro breweries and bars, now rumored to be delayed another 6 months. In a recent survey about 100 of the 320 existing FL micro breweries predicted going out of business if they couldn’t open their tap rooms and retail accounts in August. Now we are looking at reopening in Jan/Feb 2021? If so it will likely decimate the craft brewing industry here.
The prediction was made Friday by the head of Florida's regulatory agency for bars and restaurants during a meeting with craft brewers in Vero Beach,
There is a way around the delayed opening if breweries and bars are willing to change their state licenses to also offer food. Some have taken advantage of this loophole, while others are too broke to invest in the kitchen needed to serve food. If I was a bar or brewery owner I’d buy a hot dog griller and offer charcuterie to get the doors reopened. But some of these businesses are financially unable to make the upgrades. It will be very bloody for anyone without deep pockets here in the bar and brewery businesses.

Although it adds to the bottom line nothing will replace the lost keg business.Have any of them moved more aggressively to delivery? The breweries did that here, but it may be more challenging in a larger state.
