Not sure if serious, but there is some merit in that bit of hyperbole. Maybe now some folks will finally realize that this ****'s real.He deserves the Medal of Freedom posthumously for his courage in fighting Covid.
His sacrifice will save millions, if not billions.
It depends if someone changes his mind.He deserves the Medal of Freedom posthumously for his courage in fighting Covid.

As a cancer survivor myself it's surely a choice that I would not have made. But I suppose he wanted to make his own choices and not be held hostage by science and the medical community.Sad sad story. Gotta wonder if he regrets his stance on masks and social distancing. If I were him, I would have hunkered down, but I guess he just wanted to live his life.
How could he currently regret his stance? He is dead.Sad sad story. Gotta wonder if he regrets his stance on masks and social distancing. If I were him, I would have hunkered down, but I guess he just wanted to live his life.
I just found out today that he was a leading stalwart in fighting against smoking bans in restaurants. Nevertheless condolences to his family.Did his best in 1996 to keep the tipped minimum wage at $2.13. It remains there to this day. I do not weep for HC. I hope he finds peace, though.
Wow, doesn’t like to listen to the medical field.I just found out today that he was a leading stalwart in fighting against smoking bans in restaurants. Nevertheless condolences to his family.

You asked the question. Maybe you should fix your post.Noooooooo! Really?
There were many who did not like Lautenberg. On both sides. Frank was a smoozer of the first kind. I didn’t say anything bad about the guy but Frank was a manipulator and he lasted 5 terms.people “ like me”... you don’t know me... and what I said was true... I liked Herman Cain and sorry if it hurts... there were some in his party who finally felt free.
I’m just telling you what my late father told me about Lautenberg so Frank did have his detractors even in the same clan.May Herman Cain, a great American, Rest In Peace.
I worked at ADP for a few years while Lautenberg was prez there before becoming US Senator. Here’s a story to indicate the type of guy he was to work for.
A young mother from my dept was a half hour late for work because her child was sick that morning. While walking in from the company parking lot she ran into Lautenberg, who was arriving at the same time. Knowing who he was, she apologized for being late and explained the situation to him about her child. He was friendly, said not to worry and that she had a good excuse for being late. He also asked for her name and dept she worked in.
What happened next? You guessed it. Her supervisor called her into his office and told her that Lautenbergs office just called him and said to give her an official reprimand for being late to work that morning.
What a guy.
Nice whiff on your narrative. He felt sick the morning of the rally.I didn’t agree with his politics but he took a (avoidable) risk and paid for it. To lose your life attending a rally was not worth it and I’m sure his grieving family feels the same. Because of his stance on face masks, his death will made out as an example to others to continue to take this seriously and wear a mask when you cannot safely practice social distancing.

The man believed in certain things ...had his principles. Whether he went is not for any of us to judge. That was part of his personal freedoms which Cain chose to exercise. You also would say you had the right of expression correct? I‘m sad for all that have passed due to covid19. It does not discriminate that’s for sure.Nice whiff on your narrative. He felt sick the morning of the rally.
How can you be so sure what his family feels? Stop projecting your feelings, which are not likely how his family feels.
Well I see one person in that picture with a mask anyway.I didn’t agree with his politics but he took a (avoidable) risk and paid for it. Where does it say he was sick “before” attending the rally? From everything I read he became ill after. Even if what you’re saying is true, that makes it even worse because he was knowingly sick the morning of and still decided to go to a rally unmasked and exposed others as well.Nice whiff on your narrative. He felt sick the morning of the rally.

he felt sick and still decided to sit with a bunch of other people and not wear a mask? What would that say about him if true?Nice whiff on your narrative. He felt sick the morning of the rally.

How can you be quite sure? Yes, I am disputing that. Stop projecting YOUR feelings and your purported values onto others.Where does it say he was sick “before” attending the rally? I’m quite sure any person that loses a family member after attending a rally unmasked and later dying would regret the choice of their loved one attending. Are you disputing that?
I am not projecting “my” feelings by stating his family probably regrets his decision to attend this rally unmasked especially since he had a history of cancer. He made a deadly decision to push a no mask narrative and mock the virus and it didn’t work out for him.
It would say nothing. Let the man Rest in Peace. Some of you people never know when to let up with your self-righteousness.he felt sick and still decided to sit with a bunch of other people and not wear a mask? What would that say about him if true?

Still haven’t seen this being reported anywhere so I doubt it’s true that he was sick the morning of the rally. He called Coronavirus a hoax and pushed a dangerous narrative of not needing to wear a mask and is now dead so, I don’t understand how the ones pointing this out are being self-righteous.he felt sick and still decided to sit with a bunch of other people and not wear a mask? Just following his leader. There are posters even now that don’t think wearing a mask does anything.Still haven’t seen this being reported anywhere so I doubt it’s true that he was sick the morning of the rally. Pretty sure this poster below (and not @RUBOB72) is who brought up Lautenberg first...I think Dave might have been referring to people like you who appear to navigate EVERYTHING they do and say based on their political leanings. For instance, you just praised Cain and his passing and made up some story about how people were glad Lautenberg died in the same thread.
Rest in Peace Herman Cain.
Yep. Most recently when Senator Lautenburg passed you would have thought it was like the boogie man had been silenced on the now defunct "current events" board.

The minimum wage thing I’m okay with (maybe raise it a little bit but not the real minimum wage AND tips). He also fought against reducing the % blood alcohol for DWI. Being against both the smoking ban and DWI was because he didn't want to hurt restaurant profits. So I guess it is ironic that the virus that took him also took care of restaurant profits.

Just like Trump, he would have been a disaster if elected President.
?I got my first post removed for noting the Rutgers mention at the press conference today. I hope I dont lose any trophy points. LOL.
