Im more concerned with the bus ride vs time in the classroom. And the cost will be staggering. She also mentioned that they will need to run more buses if they want any type of separation on the buses which cost more money that the town/ cities/states do not have due to lower tax revenue.

Not him.
This dude has been around before Formerly went MIA.
Shouldn’t teachers be in Group A and B in that scenario too? The whole point would be so the two sets of kids/teachers stay separate .
Wait, Greg is Little Formerly? Time for some fake shock!Oh lay off Little fkr1000 (we all know your secret Greg)

Formerly was banned multiple times and used the Greg account then. Not him.

Oh... Gotcha.Formerly was banned multiple times and used the Greg account then.
Not enough teachers to split up?
Good point though.
The point of split teams (in school or at work) is to have no crossover contact.
As do I. My kids are ages 3-21. We went back with no teachers yesterday and the kids start Monday. Im on the medical staff and we feel well prepared but experience is the best teacher so ESY will reveal a lot for September onwards.I work with Preschool Disabled and children with ASD. Having them wear masks is not an option.
Curious to see what will happen. All our kids are bused in as well.
Schools can reopen ... but classrooms better look like this or else it'll be a total disaster.

I'm already assuming I'll be purchasing a stockpile of masks, gloves, wipes, and sprays for my classroom. Why not add plexiglass partitions? No worries, we'll just have the teachers pick up the masks and dividers along with the extra pens, pencils and notebooks we normally make them buy. They can install them in the next few weeks as they aren't doing anything anyway.
Also no chance any of our kids will have parents who will flip the **** out if little Johnny is required to wear a mask.
Everything is fine.
You probably will have to take on more janitorial duties to clean up the classroom.I'm already assuming I'll be purchasing a stockpile of masks, gloves, wipes, and sprays for my classroom. Why not add plexiglass partitions?
Since our district's state aid was cut by several million dollars, there really isn't any other way to make it happen.

This is true. We have plenty of case studies to review and learn from.
Split teachers at the lower grades will not work . I teach at a 4th and 5th grade school and each teacher teaches their class a few subjects and another teachers class a few subjects . If you have kids go half day each , you’d have half of one class come for the morning and the other the afternoon. The teacher would need to be there for both groups to teach all the kids . The only way you could do it is if al the kids in a given class come in on the same day and not on the other day .The split teacher idea makes sense, don't know how they would do it...especially for teachers with multiple grades.
Or by grade (middle school level)
Starting to sound like many teachers don’t want to go back into the classroom this Fall, yet have no science to support their position.
What position does the NJ teachers union take on returning to the classroom?

Are your grandkids and their parents still quarantined? No camps? No play dates? No work?I am scared to death about sending my three grandchildren, who live with me, back to school. I'm 67 years old with underlying conditions and don't want to become infected, as it would probably kill me.
We're looking @ the following for a HS scenario -- still being discussed, of course.
Week 1:
Monday: Group A students in school/Group B students online
Half Days (30 minute classes)
Cleaning/Sterilization during remainder of day
Tuesday: Group B students in school/Group A students online
Wednesday: All virtual
Thursday: Group A
Friday: Group B
Week 2:
Monday: B school/A online
Tuesday: A school/B online
Wednesday: Virtual
Thursday: B school/A online
Friday: A school/B online
Virtual Days (Wednesdays) would allow for needed practice and improvement in using various virtual technologies, while also helping us prepare for potential full closing, if needed. Most in-school classes would max @ 12 students.
Teachers in my district would like to have something like this but our super is trying to get every kid in the building in the morning up until lunch . We have close to 700 kids and 20-24 kids in a classroom so I have no idea if this will work . He’s using the American pediatrics guidelines where they say kids can be anywhere from 3-6 feet in the classroom . The problem is hallways and common areas . I guess the kids might be just in the one classroom all day and avoid hallways and things like that . Maybe specials come to them ? All of these details haven’t been explained to us yetHow are the online kids handled? Are they livestreaming the class, or do those kids just have online work assigned? A teacher can't both teach in the class, and have interaction with the online kids at the same time.
Oi, I'm glad I don't have to figure this out.

Go back to the old normal.. make accommodations for those at high risk of complications... and let life continue.
are they? Some states tried to keep the old normal, and now their hospitals are all full up.
You're mixing up the typical anti-union rhetoric with the immediacy of the current situation. We have about a month and a half until this **** show starts and the Secretary of Education has done nothing but push an agenda without any monetary or structure to accomplish her demands. That's the problem you're ignoring.Obama's guy was a charter school guy too. DeVos is not the problem.. the teachers' unions have not fixed failing schools but keep saying.. just spend more on us. Public school teachers, regardless of pay, succeed where the nuclear family succeeds and they fail with the family structure is in tatters. Coincidence?
I agree with the nuclear family part / supportive family . That won’t change no matter who is in charge but she displays no leadership whatsoever regardless of her background . She has been silent since March , offering no guidance , encouragement or plan throughout the whole pandemic . It’s been like this much of her tenure and I highly doubt she’s even stepped foot in many public schoolsObama's guy was a charter school guy too.
