Regional Training Centers have become an essential part of college wrestling programs. The greatest benefit they provide to the college’s themselves are workout partners.

For Rutgers, the SKWC and NJRTC have provided the wrestling program with phenomenal training partners such as Anthony Ashnault, Pat Downey, and Tyler Graff. SKWC has now added another All-American to their list of resident athletes, as Olympic hopeful, Ethan Ramos, has joined the Scarlet Knights Wrestling Club.

Ramos, a New Jersey native, is an 86KG Olympic hopeful for Puerto Rico. Ramos has numerous scholastic and international accolades, along with a ton of experience to the table.

I can’t stress enough that these “phenomenal training partners” (i.e., Resident Athletes) that help RU Wrestlers are 100% funded by Donors (not Rutgers University as RU is not allowed to pay at all by NCAA rules). So, when you donate to SKWC Pin Pool, become an SKWC member, buy a raffle ticket, go to an SKWC fundraiser (golf outing) or make ANY tax deducible charitable donation to the SKWC, a non-profit organization, you are helping to pay for these Resident Athletes as well as help with many of the other fabulous contributions the SKWC does to support the RU Wrestling program, such as mentoring, wrestling tournament assistance, etc.

Please consider donating to the SKWC. As with most charities during covid-19, it has had a profound effect on SKWC’s ability to fundraise and SKWC needs your help IF you are in any position to provide financial support. It would be very much appreciated. The BIG wrestling programs have financially strong Wrestling Clubs & keep moving forward. SKWC needs to do the same if RU faithful wants to see the RU Wrestling program compete at that same level. It takes a village.

Thanks for your consideration.
Go RU!
