I can't imagine Nebby having long term success with wholesale turnover like that...

They are going to be a tough team this year, just wait on it. They added some solid pieces and should be on the right track with Hoiberg.

Neb looks like they added a number of guards (all three avg double digits) that score a bunch. I was really impressed with Kobe King.

Don’t know how their front court is though. Didn’t seem like a complete team that can play on both ends of the court.

It's going to be bombs away from 3pt land. Nebraska is either going to blow teams out or get buried. There won't be any tight competitive games.

I do have one question. NU has a lot of guards, but who is the main ball handler?
NU is not a tall team and it lacks length. I see NU playing a lot of junk defenses to hide their lack of height.

Hoiberg was very successful at Iowa State with transfers and JUCOs. Since then, he’s gotten NBA coaching experience too. He’ll have Nebraska back to the post season in a couple of years.

Indiana's Trayce Jackson-Davis is returning for next season. He is no longer testing the waters of the NBA draft.

update 5/6

Michigan has another player in the transfer portal. Freshman Cole Bajema has entered the portal Wednesday. Bajema is a 6'7 three-point specialist who Michigan was counting on to be the next Duncan Robinson ('16-'18) who shot over 40% from 3pt land. Michigan may be forced to play all of its incoming freshmen and the wing players may slide down into the backcourt.

That kid plays Pike like defense. He gave Geo fits. He will be a big loss for them.

Does anyone have an idea where Eastern is looking to land? Also, if you go over on the Purdue board, they seem to think the team will be better off without Eastern. They are smoking some serious stuff over there, thinking their young guys will fill the role of Eastern or Harmms and not see a dropoff.

That’s idiotic. They had no one on that team that played better defense - no one. They will see when Geo goes off on them next year.

Maryland adds Galin Smith (6'9 senior, 3.2ppg, 2.5rpg), a transfer from Alabama. This looks like Maryland is adding a warm body to the roster. Maryland may be in worse shape than anyone would imagine.

I mean look how we reacted with EO. Fans have a right to be pissed off, our own fans were saying we will suck without EO and the season was over before it even began.

Look at the season we just had without EO... I am sure their fans know more about the players and tendencies than us.

Purdue is losing a lot all of the sudden and looks like the team that will be the bottom half of the league...their two frosh will be asked to do a lot

Maryland and Ohio state looks like it’s losing a lot and taking transfers to plug, but the losses look much more than the gains. I don’t see a top 25 ranking for Ohio state that some are predicting and see them in the bottom half. Maryland looks like its going to be way down

Bottom half of league smells like
13-14 look like northwestern and Nebraska

11-12 look like Minnesota and penn state

8-10 look like Purdue, Ohio state and Maryland

Not sure if 8-10 can make an at large big this year ...those three feel weaker than this years 8-10 (Rutgers, Michigan and Indiana)

Starting to think the big ten will be less balanced and more top heavy...and thinking that this is a 7 bid league

It does seem like the B1G is getting hit hard with top players declaring for the draft or transferring. The B1G may have fallen back closer to the pack.

Big plus for Indiana is that their 5 star recruit - Lander - a PG I believe has reclassified to 2020

I believe Rothstein now has them ranked 19.

Update:

Michigan gets another transfer. Wake Forest guard 6'5 Chundee Brown, IMO, maybe the best transfer Michigan got this year. In two years in the ACC, he has averaged 12 ppg and it should continue at Michigan. Transfer Wade and Smith numbers may not transfer as well when you consider Columbia and Duquesne are not playing quality teams night in and night out. Eastern from Purdue will be a great defensive addition, but he will hurt them on offense. The other question that hasn't been answered is each of the transfers eligible for next year?

I also have no idea if this kid can play for Purdue, but he's 7'3 and was at IMG academy....maybe he's a project, but that size has to be worth fouls and keeping guards away from the basket.

Be very careful with Purdue....it's a very proud program and is well coached.

I believe both redshirted this year. I wonder why you would redshirt two highly-rated kids when the backcourt could have used their help? The scary think about Purdue is that they are young. They are going to be trouble for the next few years.

And terrifically coached. Painter is the real deal. This conference has so many phenomenal head coaches. Pike; Painter; Izzo; McCaffrey, Gard, etc

I confused these two with guys already on the roster.

No wonder Haarms transferred.
Purdue will be small in the backcourt. They will have some size in the frontcourt, but if Painter plays that size together, they could face growing pains.
