The Star Ledger has their All State teams on line today. Cliff made second team overall but First Team on the Parochial team. The Ware kid from Camden was Player of the Year. Wichter of Roselle Catholic also made first team.You can find it all on nj.com.

I think it is great that the Watchung Hills kid made first team. What was last time in Jersey kid made first team at that size?

I saw Bressler play 4 times this year (5'5" kid on fist team). If he was 6' tall, every team in the country would be after him.
Saw him against Rutgers Prep and the kid can just play. Great handle, good shooter from 3 and a great finisher in the lane.
No fear in this kid at all. Most talented kid on the court against RU Prep and they had multiple Division 1 type athletes.

The Star-Ledger has been historically odd and inaccurate with their “all-state” picks over the years. Couldn’t care less what they think.

He’s the Gatorade POTY in NJ for crying out loud lol!

It's a listing of the best high school players, not based on potential at the next level. A lot of these player's stats & impact will have peaked at the high school level, while other continue to move up the ladder into the next level. The 5'5" guy probably dominated in most high school games, but would at best be a decent spark plug in D1. Seems he knows that, but at least he had high school.

A guy like Cliff might not reach the peak of his powers until his 3rd year in college, if even then, while some of the other SL First Team might not even make a dent in college. It is what it is, a recognition of a good high school season.

Which, by the way, should 100% be how it is. There are enough theoretical future rankings around that don’t ever pan out. It’s good the Ledger puts the actual best players in the state
