I don't see Providence being seeded higher than Rutgers when you look at both teams' overall performance. I do know they caught fire in the BE to finish strong, but Providence's overall body of work isn't more deserving of a higher seed. Providence has three quad 3 losses and one quad 4 loss.
Didn't you say it's the entire body of work? Teams get hot or go cold, so the best way to judge a team is over the course of the entire season. One loss between quad 3 and 4 is understandable, but a total of 4 brings up questions about Providence.Providence was going to be a 7 seed by most bracketologists, RU 10 or 9
that was all early in the season, totally different team much like RU was, they were coming with a full head of steam winning on the road and at home..SHU, Nova...plus the program very experienced in the NCAA while RU first time. While RU was certainly playing well with their two wins, I think this was a buzzsaw kind of game. Providence has been a top 10 if not top 5 team in the country for a month. Just would rather be playing other 7s or 8s
If Providence wasn't a bubble team while some considered Rutgers one, doesn't it comes down to history playing a role? IMO if Rutgers were to have a similar record next year, I think they are off the bubble because they are viewed differently. I think individuals use different arguments to justify certain teams while using another argument to knock others. For example, people hold tight to the fact Rutgers struggled on the road, so they sometimes overlook the fact Rutgers crushed several ranked teams at home by double digits. At the same time, Providence got hot at the end of the season by beating several ranked BE teams. Several of these teams had beat Providence earlier in the season. I take the seeding for now as a perception problem. Rutgers has started to change the negative image people had of them with a magical season and it will continue next year.they were not a bubble team....their finish of the season overwhelms those warts....8-2 in last 10 and 6 wins in that time vs ncaa schools. They finished 7-9 in Q1 games and 12-9 vs Q1 and 2. If not for those bad early season losses, they would have been a 4 seed, so yes they did get penalized for those losses in their seeding and net
just like RU has a horrible road mark and that gets overlooked because they had so much good on the profile.
That's what I was coming to post.Providence was going to score 87 points on us? That would be more than anyone all season. Their offense can't be that great.

That's why I said the score didn't make sense. Not only giving up 87 but also scoring 86 lol.
I'm just a hater when it comes other teams.:Sly:it has zero to do with history and more to do with Providence 7 Quad 1 wins and road wins while RU didnt beat a team in the field on the road. PC won at Nova and at SHU. After the Purdue game, RU really wasnt a bubble team except for anyone but Palm...Lunardi had them a 9, some others had 9 some had 10 which means to worst RU was the beyond the last 8 in
Off by 20 on both accounts. I haven't seen Providence play but I can't imagine they have a better offense than Michigan.
