its a 4 school tourney that makes very little money, pretty easy for them to cancel it. Its held at Harvard this year.

It’s being held on Harvard’s campus and Harvard just announced that all classes will be online rest of year and everyone should move out of dorms.

Over reaction. Could have held it without fans but in typical Ivy fashion they show they do not care about sports or their student athletes. In the meantime, they absolutely screw Harvard who finished a game back of Yale , and beat them twice and the tourney was to be on their home floor. Unless there are uncontrollable cases in the Cambridge area, do not get why they cancel the tourney but will expose their men’s and woman’s teams to the tourney to a ton more people than their conference sites.

seriously, don't they have this totally backwards? Play your game for Conf. Title and then don't send them. But then shouldn't the team, players, coaches all decide on that?

These are our thought leaders... they should have been as concerned about their prof. selling secrets to China.

Likely not
Why do you say that? We are a few weeks behind Italy and Japan in the spread of the virus And you see what they did?

Also. You started a massive thread on the football board about getting your friend out of wuhan and how you needed people to call the embassy on his behalf. So you see the seriousness of the disease. But yet you seem to be ripping schools and organizations for protecting their people similar to how you were to your friend. If you didn’t want your friend getting the disease why shouldn’t schools also protect similarly.

your playing politics here.

Your insistence that nothing is going to change is dangerous and incorrect.

"My" anything whatsoever is not in any way, shape, or form "dangerous." I also have NEVER said that nothing is going to change. I'm just in the "stop with the over-hyping hysterics" crowd, that's all, if you don't mind.

My friend had a 6-month old child with him and they were in Wuhan with a ban on flights from there to the U.S.. There's a difference.

Understood. But you obviously saw the danger of the virus so if the people who run schools or tournaments don’t think it’s in public interest to hold them open then they shouldn’t.

I understand the Ivy league always puts sports 2nd. In this case they screwed Harvard who came in 2nd one game back.

All the schools in the tourney could drive it so just buses (Penn, Princeton, Harvard and Yale).

Could still have it with no fans. Or just have the top 2 face off.

Lots of schools around the country are transitioning to online classes while this virus isn't under control. Harvard, closing classes and dorms, is being proactive. As for their tournament, maybe play the games in an empty arena.

Lol. You started a hysteric level thread in all caps on the football board a few weeks ago. Now when others do the same for their people your ripping them as over the top. Your playing politics.

If the fear is safety of the fans, why not just have a conference tourney with no fans?

The Rutgers Screw can't be happening can it? At the very least, playing in the NCAA's in front of empty Arena's will suck enough.:Angry
it may help us if out west playing western teams with fans close by. Imagine a 2nd round game against Gonzaga in their backyard. With fans it will be loud. With no fans they don't have the 6th man.

If you ever want to know why the federal government is f'd up and incompetent, remember that it's run almost entirely by dopes coming out of this pipeline. 99% of all decisions made are for purposes of appearances with absolutely no consideration given to whether or not it's actually a wise (or even reasonable) idea.

I am on a plane right now in Des Moines, to Chicago to Newark and no i am not wiping down my seat, the media driven paranoia is amazing. People are afraid of their own shadow anymore.
