Toughness. Ability to bounce back after being punched in the mouth. That comes from their coach
Players normally emulate their coach . It has been the norm for many years. Rutgers players are a good group of student athletes. Pike has had very few bumps( knock on wood) ... a credit to the respect his players have for him.
They all play with a chip on their shoulder, getting the most out their abilities. Credit the coach for that too.
Tough defense and rebounding keep you in most games. They don't lose games, other teams win them when they have a really good offensive night.
I think it helps we play so many guys. We are fresh late in second half and outplay our opponents.
So many games this season, a different player was the lead scorer. We are very balanced and VERY Unselfish.

Agree. This is a very easy team to like and root for. I like that they play as a team, cheer for each other, and share in their successes and failures. As a fan, especially as a fan who appreciates defense, they are a lot of fun to watch. I love their grit and determination.

Resiliency. Saw the seeds of it last year after the Iowa loss and when we came back to beat their butts at their place.
I love that this team has been tested.. doesn't always pass but they are tough. It's not like some of these squads that go all season without being in a dog fight. Our guys should know that they've played against some of the best..if they play complete games in the tourney they can go on a run
I was watching a post-game/scoreboard show later this afternoon and one of the commentators said "Rutgers is America's team!" while discussing the (now) probability that we will make the dance. I just about fell out of my chair. It was reminiscent of the 2006 football season, which was a Cinderella season without parallel in our history.
