Our first round draw is extremely important. @bac2therac maybe u can chime in here but with Mich and Ohio St winning tonight were in 9th place. If we lose Saturday do we have the tiebreaker over purdue since we have a better overall record and tied head to head? Id really like to find a way to draw iowa in our first B1G game. How?

We would have the tie breaker over purdue if Maryland finishes 1st (this would require Sparty to lose at home vs OSU, and Maryland to lose at home vs Michigan, otherwise it is not a 2-way tie between us and Purdue). If Sparty finishes first, Purdue would have the tie breaker. However, it is a possibility that we finish in a three or four way 10-10 tie breaker with Michigan, Purdue, and Indiana. With that finish, we would be 2-3 vs the collective, which would put us 3rd out of the 4, over IU. Even if Michigan is out of the tie breaker, Purdue would still be ahead of us as they are 2-0 vs IU.

Edit for this site which you can use for big ten standings scenarios: http://bball.notnothing.net/big10.php?sport=mbb

I found a scenario that results with us playing Iowa on Thursday with us as a 10 and Iowa as a 7 seed.

IU beats Wisconsin

Purdue beats RU
Illinois beats Iowa
Maryland beats Michigan
Minnesota beats Nebraska
OSU beats MSU

then....

1. Maryland (14 - 6)
2. Mich St (13 - 7) Defeated Illinois and Wisconsin based on round-robin record (3-1).
3. Wisconsin (13 - 7) With Illinois, lost to Mich St based on round-robin record (1-2). Defeated Illinois based on winning percentage against #1 teams [Maryland] (1-0).
4. Illinois (13 - 7) With Wisconsin, lost to Mich St based on round-robin record (1-2). Lost to Wisconsin based on winning percentage against #1 teams [Maryland] (0-2).

8. Michigan (10 - 10) Defeated Purdue, Rutgers, and Indiana based on round-robin record (5-0).
9. Purdue (10 - 10) Defeated Rutgers and Indiana and lost to Michigan based on round-robin record (3-3).

It is VERY hard to beat a team 3 times in a season. I’d love to get a Michigan again

people like to say that but I have never seen evidence it is true. It's probably hard because you usually don't play teams 3 times and because you usually don't lose the first 2 if you managed to meet again.

MSU had no problem having 3 nearly identical wins over Michigan last season in which Michigan had a late lead all 3 times before getting eviscerated by Cassius Winston down the stretch.
