The fact that Hobbs didn't want to spend 4mm for a football coach but is willing to pay this amount for a Basketball coach tells me he is not a good AD.

Schiano is getting $32M over 8 years, for an average of $4M/year.
Pikiell's extension is for $6.15M over 2 years, for an average of $3.1M/year over the 8th and 9th years of his contract.

You’ll be free of Hobbs soon enough. Afterwards you’ll miss him.

Considering he's in the running for B1G BB Coach of the Year, I'd think Hobbs is being very proactive. This may look cheap by the time those season are played. Concerning those termination clauses, do they go both ways (i.e. does it apply to if Pike leaves for another job) or only apply to RU?

I hope Pike has also worked to get better $$ for his staff.

This is silly. Pikiell is winning at Rutgers right now. His salary has increased -- and not even his current salary -- because he is already delivering. Rutgers basketball has already, and remains poised to bring in more $ than in decades. Do you have an understanding of how bad the program was at the end of Eddie Jordan and where it is now? Do yourself a favor and check KenPom for each year. If the same thing happens in football, particularly with an accompanying attendance increase, Schiano will also get a big raise.

It sure is fun to finally have nice things here. The basketball program is in good hands and ready to fly going forward. The football program will take a bit more time, but Greg will make it a Bowl bidding winner that will be a tough game on the B10 schedule for everyone. Excited for the future for the first time in several years!

BTW, I retracted my statement before all the thread merged. I was wrong about his contract. it's not Tom Izzo or GS money. Saw the schedule on NJ.com and it's very fair.
