Could our 2nd half at PSU be the catalyst?

We have had so many close losses on the road to good B1G teams, with most being a one or two possession game at the end.

The razor thin loss at state penn was different in that we not only overcame the biggest deficit all year at 21 points, but we actually took a 2-point lead with under a minute to go.

Yes, it was still a loss but it was startling how quickly we erased a big deficit, not once but twice in the second half.

I think our guys will start each game from now on like it’s a tournament game, with an intensity and sense of urgency that comes with the “survive and advance” tournament attitude.

Start Young. Start Myles. Start with intensity and energy. Push the pace pleaseeee. The sense of urgency has to be there at this point. The cushion of losses is gone. This team knows they need wins. I have to believe that come out ready to play this time especially at the RAC

I agree with this. Young is so much better with on ball D than Mathis. They are both very fast and Mathis has more length, but he passively fight behind screens instead of over them and he sags inside too far. Both situation are leading to wide open 3's by his man. You rarely see that with young. Plus he gets the angle on the dribbler going over the high screen where he is better able to fight over the top without finding himself trailing the dribbler.

Miles is just so much of a defensive and rebounding presence that you can see a big drop off when he comes out for the other 2 guys. Carter at times has added a little on O, but it is out weighed by how mediocre he is on D and the boards by a long shot.
