This is going to be a wild tournament. You can make a case (some good/some bad) for all 10 of our guys having a great tournament and qualifying for NCAA Tournament. A bad tournament and you could only see 3/4 earning automatic bids.

Weight -Big Ten
125- 8
133- 7
141- 8
149 -10
157- 6
165- 8
174- 9
184 -10
197- 6
285- 7
Total- 79

If the Flo Projections are correct, I think we get 5 auto bids. 125, 133, 184 and 197 and we grab another weight somewhere due to the Home mat advantage.

Flo has Rutgers wrestlers ranked in the big 10 at:

125 - Aguilar 7 (8 auto bids)
133 - Alvarez 6 (7 auto)
141 - JoJo 11 (8 auto)
149 - Angelo 11 (10 auto)
157 - MVB 11 (6 auto)
165 - Donner 11 (8 auto)
174 - Scott 12 (9 auto)
184 - Janzer 7 (10 auto)
197 - Pagano 7 (6 auto)
HWT - Esposito 10 (7 auto)

Aguilar, Alvarez, and Janzer qualify if their seeds hold. Pagano should be an easy call for an at large at worst. Angelo can easily get in. Everyone else has an uphill climb. Grello needs to have a good tournament but if he can’t go, I think Scott can sneak in with some senior magic.

Agreed. I think Sammy/Nic get in easily with at large bids also but hopefully they can at least wrestle to their seeds and get the auto-bids at home.

I think RU earns 6 NCAA bids (down from my 6.5 projection at beginning of year).
The difference is Scott vs Grello.

My guesses
Aguilar
Alvarez
Angelo
Janzer
Pagano

1 of Jo Jo, MVB, Scott

Esposito is a long shot and 165 is rough for Donner with Hughes at #9 for MSU.

Can;t wait

Did Lipari regress or something?? Last year he was a NCAA qualifier so he was projected to be a qualifier again with a off chance to be an AA for his senior season...

Rn, he’s not projected to be a qualifier.. and also loss to Jojo whom also isn’t projected to be a qualifier... had to believe if he won the wrestleoff vs Jojo then Jojo woulda RS...

Lipari finished last season at 13-14 and was an NCAA qualifier by beating the Purdue kid for 9th place to "steal" the 9th bid that the Big10 were allocated. Not sure who predicted he would be an AA but that was some RU colored glasses.
