Basketball LIVE GAME THREAD: Rutgers vs. Northwestern

[BOCA93]

Finally penetrating this stupid zone. They’re certainly not going to shoot over it that’s for sure

[RUby RED]

Every 3 Geo takes is 4 feet behind the line. Even when he’s wide open he refuses to step up into an easier shot

[rucoe89]

Finally - that trip was Rutgers basketball -- keep crashing the glass!

[bac2therac]

0-9 3s

[Rufaninga]

0 for 3 or tonight and only Yeboah hit one last game.

When does the new practice facility open?

[RUTrack94]

Now that’s better ... time for NW to NW

[FrankZ_RU93]

9-27, 0-9 3s

[RuBird]

Would love to be in our locker room now

[theRU]

Can't buy a 3.. it's really amazing how cold this team is.

[AreYouNUTS]

0 Is unconscious

[rufancoe00]

-11 at half.... Pike better light a fire under the teams @ss, outplayed completely in every aspect of the game for 20 minutes

[jvgrad02]

We need shooters

[bac2therac]

38-27..honestly we are lucky..signs of life last few minutes and forced Nwestern to hurry shots.

How big are the first few minutes of the 2nd half

[BOCA93]

Pike should rip their heads off at halftime. That was embarrassing. They are lucky to be down by only 11

[FrankZ_RU93]

Refs with us when we don’t show up. Keep it

[greenknight]

Why are you setting up for the last shot down 13....how about pressing for another possesion

[bac2therac]

Just abou the crappiest teams in the country cam 3s at some point..except us

[RUby RED]

Pike coaching to retain the fan base in the second half

[brookdale-soda]

Our defense has to improve but the law of averages takes over with NW shooting in the 2nd half. On offense were being too unselfish. Shoot the ball!

[richthedentist]

Outscored 18-0 from 3 point range that says it all when you constantly leave guys open and we have NOONE who can make a 3 pointer

[TonyLieske]

Huge comeback to close the half! Zero doubt Pike will win halftime once again. This game is basically over, chalk up another win for dear old Rutgers.

[jerzeyguy]

We need a couple shots to go down - then energy will rise and we take over. But need them shots to fall...

[AreYouNUTS]

I'm changing bars

[MadRU]

Almost every time we made them move to shot, they missed. When they get open looks, catch and shoot, they don’t miss.

[RUsojo]

9-27, 0-9 3s

Shooting 29.2% from 3 this year good for 330th in the country.

Shooting 24.1% from 3 the last 3 years...

[anon_0k9zlfz6lz9oy]

Heres the thing, northwestern is a bunch of overachievers who got to this level by working hard. Theyre not the most talented or athletic bunch but theyre smart, play hard and can hit open shots. We just play hard and pike just relies on his teams playing harder than the other team.

when the other team is playing just as hard, pikes teams are ******.

[RUsince52]

3 pointers and layups the difference for them. Almost any of our shots taken while moving have been awful at best.

[RUTrack94]

The good is RU brought the deficit down to 11, and are getting more FT attempts and rebounds. I can’t see RU going 0-9 on 3 pointers again (law of averages to hit 30%).

Hope the fans turn NW into a bunch of deer in headlights once NW starts shooting in the student section.

[Knightmoves]

0-9 3s

Team is choking.

How do we come up soft in a home game vs a bottom feeder?

Team has been reading bac’s team propaganda posts maybe?

[bac2therac]

Rutgers only has 4 fouls..big plus to be aggressive on D

[FastMJ]

Afraid to shoot

I’d be afraid to shoot also if I’d missed the last 10

[satnom]

Shorten the rotations.. Let Mulcahy and Carter learn and watch from the bench.

GO RU

[RU206]

Hope they have more energy on the 2nd half

[Knight Ed_rivals]

At the half Geo leading the team in shots taken and 3's taken. In what world do you let your worst shooter do that?

[biazza38]

When do we stop giving up open 3s? Seriously. All freaking year. Teams are finally making them

[ScarletteK80]

Coach P.'s daughter plays for NW, maybe she asked him to have a crap game? Well, she got her wish so far, but I think we will wake up.

In his defense, he’s had open looks. Is he not supposed to shoot?

[GoodOl'Rutgers]

unless the refs decide to "fix" the foul differential

[RU848789]

not good... still time though...

[FrankZ_RU93]

Need a 3 to drop early.
