Lol...these schools are a joke and we need to stop trying to be so perfect. Nobody cares.

Wonder if they checked the trunk to see if the ADs wife was hiding in there?

Maybe Simpson and Young spoke on Saturday and Young just figured he could get away with driving under the influence on campus.

I would think either Simpson stole the car OR Michigan violated NCAA rules by loaning the car.

stealing the athletic directors wife’s car gets one game I guess. Or is it 1st half for stealing and 2nd half for wrecking car.

I don’t know how the legal system works, but you can steal a car and not get fined or go to jail?

Lol

The best player on the basketball team at Michigan making up names after crashing the ADs car is ****** hilarious.

that whole situation is disgusting. I know JY made a mistake, but this is 10x worse. crashing the AD's wife's car, lying about who you are, and whichever Michigan Police let him go ?? Did he not get arrested with DWI?
How is this only a 1 game suspension?????

I doubt he stole the car. If it was the student manager’s car, presumably he could be friends with the student or the student just lets him borrow the car since he is a star basketball player.

Clearly seems like he was drunk driving and the campus police let it slide. Laughable that he was not breathalyzed after he gives a fake name and is stumbling around but that is how big time basketball often works.

His story really is hard to believe. I think this really was one big cover up.

complete cover up. We win that game at MSG without simpson playing.
how do these rent a cops not ask for ID???

So, if he wasn’t intoxicated and had permission to drive the car, what team rule did he exactly break?

I assume speeding isn’t a violation of team rules. What a joke!

hey all. let's be clear about 2 things. There is a difference between asking for fair and consistent treatment of players and playing time and also, it was our job to win regardless. Cause if he hadn't done this thing he would have been playing anyway.
We can't build a team based on hoping other team's stars aren't playing. We have to beat them when playing . That makes us more relevant.
However asking for other programs to be fair and consistent in how they recruit and treat players is fair..Good luck with that LOL!

I’m trying to be objective. If he wasn’t intoxicated, it was just an accident. That’s not a reason for suspension. The ADs son letting him borrow the car may not be good optics (or judgment by ADs son) but it’s understandable. Team rule may have been out past certain hour of the night. 1 game suspension - fair. And lesson learned as I tell my kids “nothing good happens after midnight”.

I have no idea what you mean. could be the wine I'm enjoying here at the beach on the NC/SC border.

simpson lied about his name to the rent a cops. said his name was Jeff jackson simpson.
why the cops didnt ask for ID is a joke in itself. Rutgers police would have cuffed one of our players in a heartbeat.
