We badly need OL. Stings a bit.
Also depends on how early CSU was on him. A lot of kids will choose a smaller school that's been recruiting them for a while even if a P5 schools winds up coming in late with an offer. So much of recruiting is about building relationships with a staff and in greg's defense it's not like he had a ton of time to work with
gotcha, I hope he qualifies for his sake, no hard feelingsPart of is their new head coach is Addazio who had a relationship with him while at BC.
The kid still needs a qualifying test score and is taking the test again this weekend. So not a lock to make it to CSU or anywhere else he signed.
The biggest thing will be showing some semblance of life for our HS recruiting moving forward. Transfers are fine however that's not how you build a team and you are talking about 1-2 year rental players really that couldn't cut it at their former programs.Sucks.
Late start killed Schiano.
Hopefully our Transfers will all get immediate eligibility and be healthy to play in the Fall.
HS Recruiting on both sides of the line have been horrendous by B1G standards.
The first question I ask for anyone we’re interested in.Is he good enough to play in the B1G? We need bodies on the OL and DL but this kid may not have been a contributor for us.
right now I think it's more about bodies and what kind of drive the kid has. We forget that there's been a a lot of players from the Big 10 lately that were former walk ons that turned into complete studs (JJ and TJ Watt, Ricky Wagner, Jack Conklin, Carl Nassib, Joe Schobert all come to mind). Eventually we have to catcha break and find a gem. Not saying Snively is that guy but it would have been nice to find outUConn ,Chattanooga, Austin Peay and Albany were his other offers besides CSU & RU.
Kid might turn into a good one, but for now a gamble, going by his offers.
Wonder if he was offered, but as a blueshirt by Rutgers.right now I think it's more about bodies and what kind of drive the kid has. Schiano wanted him so I guess the answer is yesThe first question I ask for anyone we’re interested in.
His offers weren't good because his academics suffered his junior year after his father died. Didn't look as if he'd have the grades to qualify.UConn ,Chattanooga, Austin Peay and Albany were his other offers besides CSU & RU.

Kid might have become a valuable starter, or a bust.
With maybe two scholarships left, pickings might be slim in ready to play talent and Snively might have been a down the road type of talent to fill this year's roster or be saved for 2021 while developing him into a B1G player
Plenty of them out to our East in Pa and even up in New York. It used to be nearly impossible to comb through all the areas but with the rivals camps and resources like Hudl it has substantially improved HS recruits abilities to get noticed. O-lineman don't get the love they deserve and there's plenty of talent that doesn't get noticed from the blue bloods. Just last year in the draft 3 out of the 4 o-lineman drafted in the first round were from Alabama State, NC State and Washington State. Not to mention you had 2 olineman taken in the 3rd round within the first 10 o-lineman taken overall from Charlotte and Sioux Falls so 3 out of the first 10 O-lineman taken in the 2019 draft were from non P5 schools and 2 more were from schools that aren't exactly world beaters. Hell Larry Allen who I consider the best O-lineman ever was from Sonoma State, ton's of O-lineman get missed. I bring up wrestlers because they already have a good understanding of balence and body control, get them on a good nutrition program and add 40 lbs of muscle and all the sudden you have a squad of NFL lineman. It's EXACTLY what Wisconsin does and there's nobody better in the NCAA at developing O-lineman than WisconsinNot a lot of farm boys for O line in Jersey. Maybe we can comb the 4H rosters.
What an odd decision. Sure I get the outdoors life, but there's plenty of time for that and at most 4-5 years to play fball. The levels of comparative fball are not close, and if that was a passion, the choice wouldn't be close. Perhaps fball is not an all in thing and the RU current model didn't fit well.

Probably, but who knows? Addazio was criticized for many things, but he did know his OL.Is he good enough to play in the B1G? We need bodies on the OL and DL but this kid may not have been a contributor for us.
At some schools the club program is highly organized and pretty good. And lots of fun.He played high school hockey and baseball in addition to football. Maybe he wants to continuing to play hockey in college.

yes. But the other OL commitments in this Class didn’t exactly have stellar offers.
2 of the 3 had no other P5 offers at all and the other OL Felter had a couple (BC and WVU).
Next year is big for recruiting Linemen.
