Just 3 shots in the 2nd half....2 of 3 but two big ones down the stretch including a big rebound after an awful Geo 3

he was 2-7 in first half but hit two 3s.

4-10 for game, I think there were times where I saw Caleb forcing too many shots and would rather have Yeboah more involved. I also think while Young was really good at times, he shouldnt be taking 3s at all..,thats a killer in the offense

Cannot remember at the time but at what points was he in vs not in the game but I think in some of those stretches where we are just struggling on offense, he can be the matchup problem if we are patient on offense, which we were not. He played 25 minutes but come on just 3 attempt in the second half and had only 1 until the 6:30 minute mark

Because of his experience and versatility I would like to see us go to Yeboah more especially when we are in one of those droughts.

The second team which usually comes into the game at the 15 minute mark isn't generating points except for Young .This is a big problem because scoring droughts are becoming more frequent.

Harper has completely lost his shot.. Until he regains it he needs to stop taking threes.

How’s he going to know when it’s back if he doesn’t shoot?

My $0.02 is Harper, Baker, and Yeboah (less lately) are too hesitant to shoot. Too much thinking. Be shot ready and shoot!!! First half Mathis had enough BSing and had his mind made, was shot ready when the ball swung, and shot...boom! The hesitation by our “shooters” drives me nuts. Just shoot!

To play and WIN at this time in the season and with this competition, everything has to go well and everybody has to be contributing..Coaches included. For RU to win a lot of the rest of the games all efforts require more cohesion than was shown tonight. The key to future wins is "Will it be done"? Surely hope so.

How is he shooting in practice? We don't know. I just see these games and think a little of John Starks. At some point you've got to get the ball to the hot hand when you obviously don't have it.

Agree 100%. Nothing frustrates me more about our offense than watching our better shooters pass up an open shot, dribble in slightly, and then pass it out, only to completely reset the possession. If Yeboah or McConnell are open from three they should be letting it fly with no hesitation.

This is a game where where Eugene was missed. Needed the inside presence and MSG experience..would have also kept Yeboah more exclusively outside, letting him launch more..We needed someone to prevent that end of half tip in off the 2nd of two missed free throws

he hit back to back 3s in the first half to put RU up 12-7

Yeboah had 5 shots in the first 5:30 and then just 5 shots the rest of the way 35 FREAKING MINUTES..inexcusable

he's the smartest most mature player we have and we have got to stop making him disappear. Same with Tez today. Ride the hot hand. Both these guys have been great last couple of games and yet the plan seems to give em a few and then force the other guys. That's not good coaching IMHO.

Young and Tez's defense was driving UM crazy. Their athleticism could have been the difference. Cause nobody else was getting inside or getting past the UM Defense. The UP tempo was working. The Hold and go 1 n 1 wasn't.

This is like CVS we're the D approach just blinds the coach to the offensive end.

Freakin Out Coached. Really disappointed today in Pike in a game he couldn't wave his arms to get the crowd. .

Don’t worry..speed of JY & MM will be on full display forcing multiple Michigan turnovers at the RAC..Harper will find his range, Geo back at full strength. 4 game win streak completed and invitation sealed to go dancing in March...

both YEBOAH and YOUNG make the offense go. I get the matchup game but when RU is struggling mightily to create offense these two BOTH have to be on court at same time and NOT for some pre determined minutes and then rotate. Pike gotta stop that.
Also when key players struggle, like Harper, sit them at bench at times.

Agreed, the offense was missing yeboah tonight. Pike has to do a better job of getting him involved. The thing is yeboah is so quiet and unselfish that its easy to forget how meaningful he is to the team
He will be missed next season.

Conference points per game (and rebounds):
10.8 - Yeboah (5.1 rb)
10.7 - Harper (5.5 rb)
9.5 - Young (2.5 rb)
9.2 - McConnell (4.1 rb)
8.5 - Johnson (6.7 rb)
7.8 - Mathis (4.0 rb)
7.6 - Baker (2.4 rb)
3.5 - Carter (2.2 rb)
2.5 - Mulcahy (2.7 rb)

Points per game over the last 5 games (and rebounds):
12.0 - Yeboah (4.4 rb)
11.0 - Harper (5.2 rb)
10.8 - McConnell (5.4 rb)
10.6 - Mathis (4.2 rb)
7.8 - Johnson (8.0 rb)
7.8 - Young (1.8 rb)
5.6 - Baker (2.2 rb)

Yeboah has been our best option on offense in conference play, and Baker has largely been MIA as our 7th scorer.

The key to this team is not Yeboah it is Myles Johnson. He needs to be in the game. He is a presence on defense and elevates the whole team on offense. Any time he gets in foul trouble it reduces our chances of winning.

We completely settled for jump shots instead of driving to the basket. The settling also shows up in the foul shot differential. Jump shooting teams don't go to the line as much as teams that aggressively drive to the hoop. If we start off by driving to the hoop it will open up the outside. When I rewatch the game that is one thing I will pay close attention to

Agree. For whatever reason sometimes both aren't ready to shoot that open 3. Dont hesitate. Shoot in rhythm with confidence. They have been our best 2 shooters. Mathis is also coming on strong. He takes his time with his 3 now and its helping

1) I agree Yeboah should have been more involved in the offense but he was a little loose with his passing causing a couple of turnovers
2) I’m not gonna hammer Pike but he is a bit too locked in with his substitution pattern. I hate when Tez or Yeboah are hot, they get pulled because Pike has a set rotation he adheres to.
3) Just like I said about keeping the hot hand in the game, you gotta sit the cold hand (Harper, Geo) if it’s not working
4) I’d like to see more of Tez and JY on the court at the same time when defense is really needed.

Just rewatched the game especially the last 3:23 and just sick that we panicked and settled for threes, Harper, Caleb, Geo at least 5 times when all we needed was a two , so that Geo’s one make would have taken the lead with 19 seconds. We really pounded the glass and turned up the defense and Michigan got nothing. Pike’s sub of Geo and Ron for Jacob and Akwasi was not a good one especially how bad Geo and Ron played. Jacob sparked the comeback and they could not stay with him. I understand Pike’s loyalty but it did not work during the end game.

yes, if tez continues to shoot as well as he has in conference play I would add him to that list

Pike had no problem cuffing Young to the bench all second half the other game but when it's time to give Ron and Geo the same treatment he gave them the star treatment instead. It was disappointing especially since this teams whole thing is that it is a true team. Ron and Geo shouldn't be above having their minutes go to someone with the hot hand.

I honestly dont think that is sustainable but at least while hes hot

once again just like vs Michigan, Yeboah had a solid first half..made 3 straight 3s.....4-7 I think for the half and then only 4 shots in the 2nd half..what the ****...1-4, made a huge 2 that was a half inch from a 3, then he missed in the corner perhaps forced..but that means he took just 2 shots for over 15 minutes..that just cannot happen..how is this happening, can anyone explain

I think's Maryland's defense on him was the reason Yeboah was quiet in the 2nd half. He got open looks right out of the chute but they clamped down on him and the shots he did take in the 2nd half he had work hard to get and were very contested.

well they better be getting him shots because with Young out, Geo a shell of himself, Harper in a funk we need offense. Its up to Pike to run some plays to get him looks. If he isnt being aggressive enough, he needs to be told to take over.

even the he made was contested with a high arc...the 2nd one perhaps a bit forced at that point, could have got a better shot, the one possession that hated was where we ran down the clock and Harper hoisted an airball..ironically Yeboah passed up the shot

that Caleb running into trees was just a bad job, good intention to push but down 1 and 54 seconds, gotta work the offense

then Caleb again down just 53-51 just an awful rushed pass ugh for a turnover..game over
