Horrendous article. Yea, yea the usual suspects will say, "oh what did he say that isn't true?" This isn't the time and it shouldn't be the purpose of an article now to rehash in depth the problems and sins of previous eras and gloss over the present exciting and uplifting story that is happening before our eyes that is attempting to wash a way the misery of those previous difficult years. Basically it was a hit job by a bitter, angry, pathetic old scribe. Thumbs down.

I think it’s more an attempt at style than saltiness, though not sure it works well. His opening simile is pretty embarassing

He writes for a blog now, apparently. I thought he was segueing into horse racing the way that crappy site is set up.

I’m the biggest media apologist on these boards but I’ve NEVER liked Luicci. To me always went out of his way to take potshots at Rutgers, often when writing about a totally different topic. Unlike someone like Politi who like a good dig as much as any writer, Luicci’s we’re never funny and always seemed mean spirited. And in his post Rutgers career he hasn’t been very professional. He wrote a hatchet job on Hobbs way before it was fashionable but failed to disclose that the writer had in fact been fired by the guy. Of course he tries to paint Eddie Jordan as mistreated. Luicci’s admitted that his classmate is his all time favorite player.

That article was a joke.

What's the best way to tell Tom where to shove this article? Hack "journalist". Wonder what it's like knowing you're a failure in life.

I didn’t click the link so thanks for the quick synopsis. An example of why media gets a bad rep.

WTF is Tom Liucci?

A dickheaded ex-Star Ledger journalist who would (and did) push a small child who had been waiting on line to meet Coach Schiano out of his way and practically to the ground to ask the burning question "How do you feel about today's scrimmage?"

Guys a f**king a**hole and he knows it because I told him so. I hope he chokes to death on his salt. The worthless prick.

He took shots at Bannon and Waters, 2 coaches that actually got us closest to the dance since 1991, and Rice, who had potential before Murdoch blew it up, 3 yrs. 15 wins, 14, 15 (44-51, 16-38 BE) but protected Fred Hill Jr., 4 yrs. 10 wins, 11, 11, 15 (47-77, 13-57 BE) and Eddie Jordan, 3 yrs. 12 wins, 10, 7 (29-68, 8-46, 1 AAC, 2 B1G). Fred Hill was a decent recruiter but in game coach was a disaster. Eddie Jordan was a joke and there for a paycheck, needed to be fired year 3 after that rebounding quote mid-season after that Seton Hall game. It is probably one of the worst college coach quotes ever.

Eddie Jordan on his team’s 53-32 rebounding deficit: “I told them I’m not going through rebounding drills guys. That’s not in my package as a coach. Rebounding is about heart and nose for the ball and wanting to go get it. That’s just not me as a coach.”

Article is not inaccurate - Tom needed to close with a positive with the renaissance of basketball on the banks.

Tom has always been to the point - and our athletic history has fed him that kind of material.

Frankly he has always been on the money in his reporting.

calling him an *** or worse is not justified.

Think he is justifiably a little bitter. Article wan't too bad,
The premise that Eddie wasn't given enough time was silly.
Then again Hobbs let Ash go into year four... Maybe Eddie should have been given the same?

Sorry Mr Luicci ... we didn't mean to talk about your son like that. Tell him to write better or dont write anything at all.

I always felt reading Luicci that even when he wrote a positive article about something successful a RU Athlete Program accomplished he'd find a way to put in a dig adding a bit of negativity in what should have been a positive article
