Let’s just hope it was cramping in his quad but he has been wearing that back brace/stimulus device coming out of halftime the last few games.
As stated in another thread I believe this was the main reason we got killed on the boards in the second half last night

On a separate note I wonder if Eastern has bruised or broken ribs from the Carter pick he ran in to.
He really ran into to it hard. I was worried that they might call Carter for a foul just based upon the severity of the collision. Happy that they didn't. That being said, I hope that Eastern is o.k.

Eastern made Baker work to bring the ball up and Proctor etc bothered Mulcahy who was a little loose with the higher dribble.

Playing a team that is built eerily similar to RU is tough. I can forecast Mawot Mag being like Eastern on defense for RU down the road.

Brutal, but totally legal pick. Didn't even extend arms, which would have been called. Loved it. My son did that in a rec game & the kid's mom was screaming. Ref shrugged & said what's the big deal. Almost felt bad seeing Eastern wincing on the bench, but he definitely backed off a bit from pressuring in the backcourt.

I too think Myles is fine. Plus, he HAS to be! Carter tries hard, but the kid has absolutely no hands. It was so frustrating seeing him flail at and fumble a couple of crucial rebounds last night. In contrast, Myles plays like he has stick-em on his hands.

They were definitely working on his thigh/quad, which is usually way better than a knee. Let's hope he's fine, as he's the player we can least afford to miss, given lack of big man quality depth. Look at how well we were able to replace Geo, since we have so much guard depth - not the case for Myles. We want Cliff!!

Listen Shaq is not anything but a stop gap, but he really, really needs to work on his hands. Almost every time a ball gets near his hands it bounces off. If he could just catch a ball it would make a big difference in his game.
Agree - reminds me of Kareem Wright in the stone-hands department, but he competes hard and has a better outside shot (and FTs) than Myles, so he's at least decent in the sub role.

I was watching the game on TV. Looked like Myles was cramping up.

They showed the replay and there was no sudden movement or impact that seemed to immediately cause discomfort. When he was on the bench he was using one of the high speed massage guns on BOTH quad areas right above the knee. And the trainers were feeding him what looked like gatorade. Which that is a classic sign of cramping. And Myles was in at the end of the game. So i think he'll be fine.

Charlie horse, not knee...great time for 3 days off

I thought so also, BUT, he was working BOTH quads on the bench with the massage machine...that combined with the packet he drank as soon as he got to the bench tells me it was cramps.

to the poster mentioning the back brace "thingie" that lights up...it looks like it has stimulus components to it. Myles and Shaq usually wear that gadget during games (during warm ups and on the bench...NOT during the game...lol). I've also soon other players wearing it (Tez a couple of games ago)

That was my guess. He put the stim stick thing on his quads when he left. That was very good news to me. For about 2 minutes I saw our season flash in front of me
And just before massaging the leg he took a swig of something from a small bottle which I assumed was an electrolyte type of drink.

Agree. There were several moments last night were he simply didn't secure the ball. I'm starting to sour a bit on Shaq. He looks like a tired player on the floor. Slow to react. He needs to step it up. We need him.

......which leads back to the "legs" argument. This is a grind and players are going to break down.

On a separate note did anyone watch the video with the day and the life of Myles. Drinking 2 Dunkin Dounts coffee drinks is not the most efficient thing to put in your body. Hope staff is on top of what the players are putting in their bodies.

Carter has regressed this season

that's a tad harsh. i think we expect him to do some different things this year...especially with Myles being much more of a factor.

I do agree that we all probably expected more output from him, but I think his role has changed (which is one of the great things about this team...everyone accepts and thrives in their role)

I see Carter as a 4 forced to play the 5. He’s just outsized against these trees in the B1G.

It's true, if harsh, so be it

He was able to catch the ball last season

I think he has a hand injury

Hyperice Venom heat and vibration, no "stimulation" as it is used over the jersey

I thought it was cramps or as some said above a charleyhorse. He came back to the game several minutes later thank goodness and made the deflection on the long pass that Purdue tried at end of game

He ran intonyhe pick hardddd. Carter is thick. He is feeling that one today

Best on ball defender have seen this year against us
Agreed. So much length and so quick. Best on ball defender I've seen this year. I dont know why we had whoever he was guarding ever bring up the ball. No upside and its tiring and annoying. Just let one of the other guards or Harper bring the ball up the court.

His size is certainly not an asset at the 5, but last night Carter was the same size as Purdue's center Williams, but Carter did not fair well. The problem is, Carter really doesn't have the skill set for a 4 either. He is too slow footed, doesn't handle the ball well enough and is not a good shooter.

People get on Carter and I agree that I also expected more of him but he’s not a 5 and the only option to backup Johnson is him or Ducoure and there is no comparison between the two. Johnson’s emergence this season also highlights Carter’s deficiencies.
